[Setup] [317] Setting Up Dodian/Devias Files!!

Here is the tutorial on how to setup Dodian website, and server and to login!! its pretty easy and simple.

Step1:
Go Downloading the following stuff:

• apache friends - xampp
• Downloading File - Devias_Project_V1.rar
• Downloading File - compiler.rar
• Downloading File - database.rar

Step2:
Installing part!

1. Install Xampp, and run "xampp-control" and start "Apache + Mysql".
2. Go to http://localhost/security/index.php and secure your server. (remmeber the pass/user)
3. Then go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin/

Step3:
Importing

1. Now import the database into it! simple and easy "click import" duh!!
2. Now grab all the website files from the server files and put them in [C > Xampp > htdocs]
3. go to [htdocs > conf > config.php] and edit the info in there!

Step4:
Website

Go to [URL="http://localhost/"]cPanel

The website is screwed, make a better tut on how to set up the website - people can't create characters to login to the game, what use is the source than?

sry i cant figure this out at all... yea go ahead and call me a noob cause i am... i go to localhost/phpmyadmin and all it does is say permission is forbidden.... what am i doing wrong???

wow great updates... but unfortunately im still getting 403 access denied/forbidden... my comps all screwed up and i cant port foward... but i belong to an RS website and we gonna host a server so i wanted to check out the source =P... oh well thanks for trying ill just get the hoster to do this stuff lol

403 access when you go on root?? thats good.. you need to type in your username and pass that you set up in the security section =) hehe!

where do i type in user and pass???... it doesnt have a spot for me

Well, I made my own registration page, your tut did not work, but, I still get a "Could not complete login" error. It must be a game error...

i dont get step 3 like im at the import but idk wat the fuck to do plz help me lol

You find out wherever your "database" that you downloaded is and import it.

you import the database to your phpmyadmin.. its not rocket science =)

I added the website files and edited the register.php.
But the register link still doens't work :confused_

replace the script i posted with your register.php and add all the website files to htdocs.. then you will find the register -.- at localhost/register.php

before i even wrote a tutorial just released the files, lots of people got it to work, then again they are legendary levels.. 90% of this section is at learners...

can some 1 plz help me...

I have done everything in the guide, registered my account and all, but I'm having some trouble connecting to the server itself. I get almost the same thing in the picture although when I run mine it says "Server is already in use". Here's a screen shot (below). I try to connect to my server using a client and it either says it's offline or try another world.

I registered I'm positive, I even tried to make the same account again, and it said someone else already had that user name. So I guess I'm just shit out of luck? I added you to my msn (hugsnotdrugs15@gmail.com)..maybe we could do remote assisstance and you could figure out the problem? Thanks a bunch. :)

there found his problem, was the port

make sure your port in server.ini

port = 43594

The doors are easy enough to fix. Here's my theory on doors -

1 - North
2 - South
3 - East
4 - West
^ If you have the server up and running and have any idea how to run MySQL You'll see what I'm talking about. Also, drops are easy as hell to add, I added all of dodians drops withing 30 mins.

I have a quick question maybe someone could answer, I know this is a release thread but I don't feel like another thread is needed for a simple question. Well I got the server up and running, I used 2 clients to see if the Admin suggestion by Mooshy would work and make me admin. Well I made another fresh account, changed my "mgroup" to 3 as stated to, and I test it. I find out that the account I wanted to be admin is admin, but the "test" account is an admin as well, do I have a setting somewhere that lets all players become admin when they register, anyone else having this issue?

hmm you wanna know how you can become an admin or make everyone on the server admins?

- To make yourself admin you have to edit the mgroup and client.java to set a perfect level system, i know how to do just dont have time to test it out, plus even if you were an admin on your server, you wouldnt see yourself as admin, but others will, its a playerhandler problem that also needs fix (no time and i quit the project for now)

- if you want to make everyone an admin, simply go to your client.java and edit the default

I'm just asking how to make myself an admin. When people register and log on the default player rights is 3 and they're admin somehow.

yeah change that back to 0 for them nto to become admins, but making yourself admin is the next step.. didnt work on that just yet =) but i explained how it worked.

Okay god, Jagan wrote a tut on how to fix the admin glitch, and I wrote a tut on how to single out players for mod/admin. It is not done in PlayerRights directly but, in "mgroups"

In order to make your character admin, open up your PhpMyAdmin and select the "characters" folder from your runescape database.

Find "mgroup" and change the 0 value to 4 ( Root Admin )

The other values are in my tutorial also.

wont work, Sql servers need to register so they can save the info in the database and i dont really know how to make it register without a website just client, but if i tried i would get it to encrypt in the client.java but wont work atm..

your problem is Dodian uses MD5 =)

dam lol cuz idk if ppl can see my website at doomz.no-ip.info so ppl cant register :S i see milion ppl trying to connect to my server but getting rejected cuz there not registered lol

can anyone make that the monster would be moving like in real rs? i dont like when the monsters stays on the same ground... - anyone can make good based server files with all the PC, New RS items, all cities... anyone can take some credits from other server files :D ? i know it would be hard, but that would be great ;D
