Re: Powerful
nice idea.
Would like to help but I don't have that much experience. Only know a bit about 3ds max and some other stuffs.
Things like hexing and others would be cool if i can do it real good. But I'm just a noob in it.

Re: Powerful
Wrong section indeed.
If you're starting out this way then you need to have knowledge of programming and graphics -- can't be just one or the other, as you're going to virtually be a one-man-team until more join. You'll need to build a sandbox and expand from there. Read up on game theory/programming/etc. Also, you need to make an outline for your game. Follow the outline as closely as possible. Do NOT over-do it or your game will likely fall to hell. One of the number one problems in the indi-dev "industry" is that people move away from their outline, creating something they did not ever intend on making in the beginning. It will take months, maybe even years, to get your game off its feet. 99% of people never even complete their game, barely ever even reaching a sandbox stage.
On another note, I recommend using a premade Game Engine. TrueVision3D is a nice one--
3D Engine and Game Development SDK by Truevision3D
However, there are many other engines to chose from. Research them. For most engines, you WILL need to pay for it if you release your game. They may allow an unlimited trial, but it embeds a company logo during rendering usually and forces the user to accept a TOS (terms of service) agreement that legally binds the acceptor into not being able to release the game in mass quantity or even at all (again, unless you pay for their licensed version).
Oh, I almost forgot. Good music can definately help create a better game. I once played a game called Granados Espada (sp?). It was pretty shitty (though it had nice graphics), but the music was great. Because of the music, I actually played the game for longer than I normally would have -- before uninstalling it that is.
Also, take a look at this website. It's pretty helpful--
