Hello, does it works to run a PT server on Windows Vista?
Here server works fine , i got a problem with Sql only ( 2000 and 2005 )
Okey, do know how good laptop you need to keep the server up, like 3gb in ram, what more. Should be nice if you told us, if you know anything about it :) thx.
swezid. I advise you to not run a server on a laptop. A laptop is not able to run a server that will have like over 50 active members at the same time.
Beside that a server can run on a vista OS. As long you don't have a 64-bit version there won't be any problems for you beside the clan management. Cause vista has IIS 7.0 . It's kinda sucky because there aren't any clan set up guide for IIS 7.0
For 280689 what kinda vista do you have??

I`m use Windows Vista Home ediction , i think to works fine u need to put it to run with administrator mode..
And wat the problem in run a server in a laptop o.0 ??
Im open server and log-in 2 cliens in my laptop @_@

I open only 1 client with xtrap can open only 1 client =)
Wat i have to run it in Adminstrator mode ? HOw can I always be in Adminstrator mode for everything ?

if you have sql instaled its esy , create it manualy...
But i cant instal sql server =( don know why , 3287437824672 errors xD

do it as you wuld do without vista
xp and vista are almost the same the only thing they changed/added are the new glass themes and such. I use vista myself to i even made a video about how to set it up in vista.

Vista is actually a heavily recoded version of XP that was suppose to be more focused on security, but its interface makes it look very similar.Quote:

Rofl...... But every laptop bought the last 4 years can run it cause my old dell 0.5Ghz Pentium III, 512Mb ram and 12GB harddisk even run's it. And the nicest thing is i had 16 people with a bit lagg.Quote:

The only thing i can recomend you is install XP and if you only install vista because of the looks i got 1 thing to say DONT!!!! Just download a transformationpack or such.
