[Problem] Why do some of the more up to date Ascent revisions crash on startup?
Ok I am running some version of Ascent now (It says 2473 but when I downloaded it it said something else). Any revision I try to use above that crashes out at some point. What I would like to know is how I can get "Ascent 2.5-Trunk r2554" working with "NCDB rev705" and what SQL updates should I use.
I have a descriptive picture of what i mean (lol).

Didn't work. I can't even execute half of the sql files.

Looking at where you're server crashed I am pretty sure your database is NOT up-to-date ;)

Try viewing the crash dump?Or try installing Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

its the latest by what the SVN log says (NCDB r705). Plus how do i view the crash dump? Is anyone else using some rev higher then 2473? maybe they can tell me what they did.

You may have to completely wipe your database. Doesn't sound like a simple fix.

I tried updating to Ascent 2.6-Trunk r2600. by wiping out the database do u mean just dropping the world database, or both world and charcter databases? because i just tried that and still no effect. Although i think it got further then when it crashed before but it still crashes.

Ignore this topic i'll remake another one with more detialed information...

Most of the time it's the world database that causes crashing errors. It could be the characters too, but I don't think so.
