[Help] How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?
I have 300K upload speed internet
My PC is a Core2Duo 1.86Ghz, 2GB Ram, over 40GB space only for server on Driver D.
I have around 12~15 users ON and some claim they have lag.. WTF?
I can UPLOAD stuff at around 35 KBPS and with 12~15 users the UPLOAD rate being used is max 5kb...
Is there any formula to know how many users I can host without lag?
I thought it was around 0.5Kb per user, so I could host 50+ Users with no lag...
But why some players complain? it annoys me.. really.. I saw friends which host server with 128K upload speed with PC same or worse than mine with over 20 online and ppl have no lags
Re: [HELP]How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?
I think 20Kb per user will be good - no lag (Not Sure)
Re: [HELP]How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?
That may be because of region , ISP

Which MU Server you are using? I think lag is depend on bandwidth, MU Version and number of user connected. That's all.

exactly what i was going to say. check if the lag members are from regions far away...
Re: [HELP]How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?
reallly means the peering from isp's and country's....and ping...
Re: [HELP]How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?
lag on client side isnt always caused by server only. there are other things that can cause lag on client side such as other programs running in background and download speed.
if the client is running instant messengers, playing music, or viewing web-pages while connected to your server they will think it's server lag but it's just their connection being strained from too many programs connecting to different servers at the same time
i deal with this all the time because i use 3 different instant messengers, im always on a website, and playing mu at the same time and i get a little bit of lag.
your math is right... the players are the problem, not your connection
Re: [HELP]How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?
I have 15 - 25 players online, and my bandwith is not more than 5 kb/sec :) I am using 97d+99i, and my pc is not so good ;). I think, you must to increase your swap file ~ to 2 - 3 GB, there that's will be ok =)
Re: [HELP]How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?

PC 256RAM , AMD Athlon 1700+ 1.47 GHZ but net 1mb/s so there won't be lag yes? :)

Re: [HELP]How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?
I know xD but I cant buy a computer anymore with windows xp :(
Re: [HELP]How can I know how many users I can hold without LAG?
The most important is internet connection speed - i have 2 megabits / sec and it's OK ! No lags 100% !
