Josh for Legend?

Yea we all know MentaL and the dear super mods decide on the Legends, but bumping my old thread he made saw lots of people wanting him to be a Legend, even if he has left for good. It most probably won't do anything, but i wanted to see how people really felt about him.

So just a show of votes, who thinks Josh deserves to be a Legend?

IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO HE IS, THEN YOU ARE TOO NEW TO THE FORUMS AND HAVE NO SAY, WE DON'T WANT YOUR STUPID VOTES SCREWING UP THE POLL.

Yes, he is banned, but for no reason. He was banned for complaining and commenting about things regarding to some mods, which HE WAS CORRECT ABOUT. Kaoii (and a few others who were following him) decided that he had no business in mod matters, so they banned him. Also, Kaoii the stupid child removed 2000 posts from Josh for arguing with him. What the fuck? I also vote for the 2000 posts be RETURNED BACK TO HIM. No it makes no difference, but as with the case of Mods nowadays receiving a post count for every moderation action, they will soon surpass him FOR NO GOOD REASON, HE HAS SOME VERY GOOD POSTS AND THREADS AND RIGHTFULLY EARNT HIS PLACE IN THE TOP POSTERS UNLIKE 1/2 THE PEOPLE THERE.

BTW: Mods, do NOT vote "No" just because he was banned and supposedly broke the rules. If you have no preferance, then do NOt vote. DTB and Gohan have both been banned many times and have been given legend and mod and even super mod status. Why is he any different?

He does deserve legend status. I honestly feel that RZ lost some of it's fun when Josh was banned and just started to go down a stricter route.

Me and josh were always the ones bending the rules, Being mods ourselves we knew the limits and what was "breaking" them, but we never went that far. However there was always Kaoii to ban/infract us anyway, and THAT is what started all this rebellion against him. He took the rules into his own hands and got greedy with power. I have had about 7/8 infractions in my time, but i only ever actually broke the rules once, and that was when i lost control and flamed a mutard :P

I know, he doesn't post and hasn't even visited since he left, but thats why i wanted him to get his 2000 posts back. He earnt them, and i think mots of us can agree, those 2000 posts would have been pretty damn funny. They were removed cos Kaoii as being an idiot.

And with the mods moderations counting towards post counts, soon they will surpass him in the top posters and he will be lost among the other members... Atleast as a legend he will be easily noted and recognised as the funniest mofo here.

Wasn't quite sure, but checked just then and as i thought, being banned means he doesn't appear on the top posters list AT ALL. So they are just forgetting that he even existed at all, after everything he did for the forum and impact he had made.

If this thread does not get him Legend status, at the very least i request UNBANNING HIM TO ALLOW HIM TO BE THE FIRST RIGHTFUL OMEGA AND RETURN TO THE TOP POSTERS LIST, AND GIVING HIM HIS 2000 POSTS BACK.

I'm all for him being unbanned, and for returning his post count, i however do not see him as a Legend. I don't know what he has done for RZ to deserve it, that fact alone makes me say no, because if i don't even know it, then how can he be a Legend?

How often do you see his name pop-up? Almost never, and when his name does then it's not really that meaningful in the sense that people speak about important things he has done etc. He is/was basicly a valued member on this site, like you are Rishwin, but that doesn't qualify him as a Legend imo.

Kidding aside, that's basicly it, he never really influenced the community, when he got banned he was quickly forgotten by most of the community, people like myself and DTB were never forgotten, and because we made such a impact (both for good and bad - mostly good though imo) that people were always so far to give us another chance.


Anyway like i said, i'm all for having him unbanned.

True. But it doesn't make him a Legend. Everyone in this community knows you aswell, just like Rishwin and Genryu (just taking names from this topic), it doesn't make you guys Legends. If someone posts enough and has been around long enough, then people will know you, but how many will remember you when you're gone, how many people will be like "shame that omerta ain't around anymore". That is not to say that you don't matter or anything, but those are just the cold hard facts.
Mind you though, i don't agree with quite a few of the current "Legends" either, and some of the regular members definetly deserve it more then they do, but right now there isn't a single user who i deem Legend worthy, to me it should be exclusive to those who made a big impact on these forums, that really went beyond just using or even helping out the site, the people who really put huge amounts of time to make this place enjoyable for the rest of us.

josh got the most missed award so people do remember that hes gone, he had a huge impact on the forum, everyone knows who he is, hes a legend. he sighns onto msn from time to time but due to time differences im usually going to sleep or getting up or something.

Ontop if the fact he was funny and a name that everyone knew (even in the MMO sections), he hosted an RZ server, and wrote ALOT of Guides for a whole range of things.

Yea i do, and james, havent seen them in a while though but plan to again soon i'll prob host a lan. He will be in the class right next to me for TAFE in about 2 week so i'll see him then, and there's always msn.

IMO, i don't know about you guys, but josh is more of a legend that 90% of the legends now. Why? Well, most/all of them are Legends from 03... There are hardly any of those members around. Do YOU know why DTB is so famous? No? What about Gohan? I know, me neither (actually i do but too early in the morning to name other legends). Yes, they are legendary cos they have been here for that long and and must have done some cool stuff back then, but hardly anyone who is still here today knows what those reasons are cos we weren't there! But Josh on the other hand... EVERYONE knows him. If you joined between 04 and 07 and have ever posted in the General or MU sections, you definitely know who he is. Even if you posted in other sections, you would most probably know him too seeing his guides or having the privilege of being flamed by him for being a retard.

Not saying The current Legends dont deserve their status, they most probably do, but those reasons are from the 03 era back when this forum was only Mir and was probably hosted on Dan's PC. ALOT has changed since then, and imo its time to get some more 04 legends out there... Off the top of my head i know Ionic is an 04 Legend, but what for? See, nobody knows what ANY of the Legends did to get their status, but they all know Josh.

I'm going to have to agree with you on that one. I can't name a reason why any of the current legends have their legend status. They were famous for what they did when they were here, let Josh me famous for what he did while he was here. He deserves it.

As for Ionic being a legend, if I recall correctly, Mental opened a thread for legend nominations and people voted for Ionic because he was popular. Most of the people that voted in that thread didn't even know him, but they knew his name. That is what being a legend is all about. People still knowing your name once you are no longer here.

I honestly don't know why he is either, i'm not really sure what he did to deserve it, but that aside. Just because any of the current members don't know it, doesn't make them any less of a Legend. Yeah some people don't know i was a Admin, yes some people don't know that i've moderated on this site together for over 2 years, but then again, how many people know what Josh has done for this site, or you, or pretty much anyone that hasn't hold a moderator rank recently. Now the thing is that very few know what Josh has done, even among the staff, but i'm pretty sure that most of them know what i've done.
Exy been around the whole time, and i wouldn't be surprised if he has held a staff position the longest time, and he doesn't think he deserves it.
This has nothing to do with Josh himself, it's not that he's not liked or anything like that, it's just that he ain't a Legend, and basicly to be one you need to hold a Smod position or a Mod position for a long time and do shitloads of work, people like myself and DTB have done that. But yeah we do have "Legends" who haven't done that, and yet have the rank, and that is unfair, but we do have quite a lot of Legends who do deserve it, who have done a lot for this site. For example DeadlyEagle, how many of you know him? Probably almost none, but this guy was extremely important, he did shitloads of work on the Mir2 server back in the day, he made that server fun, he made people come to this site, so not only did he do lots of work for RZ, but (to use Exy's words) he also changed the face of RZ, he got us lots of members, he got us fame.
So when people prefer Josh over DeadlyEagle, then i say fuck that, Josh never really did anything to deserve it, while DE did.

So Legends to me are those people who didn't went the extra mile, but the extra 10 miles.

Because they don't understand how the Legend rank works. Yes he was a big part of it, but what did he besides that? All Legends were/are a big part of the community, but almost all of them did something that made them deserve that rank, moderating for a long time, server hosting etc, these people spend massive amounts of time to create a better RZ for you. I don't remember Josh doing that. And that's absolutely fine, but it doesn't get him Legend.

And hey, i'm 1 of those aswell, but fact is that if you hadn't started this topic, then i would have never said it. But i still say that it's a shame that people like Capricorn ain't around anymore, and i don't need a topic about him to say that. Josh is a user, just like most of you, he was a good user, just like most of you, but to be a Legend you need to have given more then that. I've litteraly spend over a thousand hours just moderating this site. I'm currently taking a break, but now when i come home i easily spend a hour cleaning up shit. That's the kind of work that you get Legend status for, not messing around in your free time when you feel like it.

Being an smod or Mod for long period of time should not be any sort of indication if they are legendary or not. Josh was a mod for about 14-15 months, i was a mod for 11 months. That cannot be used as an indication... look at Madison, she somehow got smod in about 4 months. And none of the mods these days not knowing what josh did is not a good excuse cos look at their join date, 1/2 of them joined when he wasn't here and the other 1/2 after he got banned. Mods these days are just random people, nobody even knows who they are. Being a moderator can't be a prerequisite.

His MMO guides? Everything he did for the MMO community let alone the general one... he has done more than 1/2 the legends.

Josh was a mod for less then a year. I have to honestly say that i don't know how much he did, fact is that we have lots of mods right now that been moderating for over a year, but they don't do enough to get the Legend rank. You have to understand that the work that some of the "hardcore" mods do in a week, is the amount of work that most mods do in a few months. That's not because they're lazy btw, but just because they don't have a lot of work to do.

I do get what you mean, Josh does deserve it more then quite a few people that have it right now, but imo they don't deserve it. And yeah that is unfair, maybe he will become one, but like with those others, i'm against it, and that's what the polls says "do you think he deserves it".

The poll was obviously never to make him a legend because like i said straight from the get-go, it is only Dan's and smod's decisions (though with Madison being so new i think it should only be Dan and Ex's decision). But i only wanted to argue the principals behind the decision and to see if people really did want him to be a Legend.

FYI Gohan, During our time, I was the mod with the most mod actions and josh was about 2nd or 3rd. Still way up there.

Obviously MentaL can choose when he wants, but basicly the choice is an agreement between people who can really judge about it, basicly the people who has done what and all that and understand what the requirements are. Ofcourse opinions differ, some believe that all the current Legends deserve it and i'm sure also believe that people like Josh deserves it, others don't.

It's hard really because you do make a good argument and it's not that fair that people like Josh and yourself (you're a important member aswell) did quite a lot more then some of the Legends, yet don't receive it.

This does deserve some more attention to sort it out. I'll get some attention on this subject in the staff forum and see how it goes.

Lawl hardly, i modded Evo for a while and made rules for about 4 sections... It was fun and wish i could have continued, but quit due to differences i had with Kaoii, and he somehow made people believe that i was untrustworthy hence ruining my chances of being mod again.

Don't see how what i did can compare with mods of MMO sections who make Guides, release server files, and everything.

Those were legit posts and Kaoii just edited his post count. How is it possible for him to do that but impossible for it to be reversed?

I like the legend rank tbh, it gives people a goal so to speak, something to obtain that they can't get with spam, post count or stupidity.

basically it's the rank for a true member of Rz and imho most of the members I know and love deserve to get legend at some point, not yet but deffinatley at some point becuase they all have an impact in their own ways.

This whole Legend rank is causing too many debates. A real prerequisite or some universal way to determine Legends is needed otherwise there is going to be tons of these debates. I for one cannot think of something right now, but since this thread is a voting/reason way to get Josh Legend I will vote yes. Why? Well from everything i can remember about him he always made people laugh, he was incredibly active, he helped out a lot and everybody remembers him. Pretty sure that if he wasn't legendary we would have forgotten him by now. As is aid tho, I think the real problem here is the way to decide who gets Legend and that must get taken care of.

hmm true. Well, it can be kept secret from the members (sorta like our Hitler Robot) that way if we do have requirements and whatnot to make it easier people wouldn't try to get it because they wouldn't know how. We just need a clearer way to decided other than these debates all the time.

I disagree, me and DTB both did atleast like a 100 times more work each then Josh did. A lot of which we did before you even were around. Before you registered we were already mod/smod/admin/gm for over a year.

Well i don't think you can ever achieve it that way, you can't bullshit your way through years and years in the hope of getting it. Like i've said, imo it should be given to those who've done shitloads for this site for years, people aren't just going to do that to get Legend rank. Well and if they do then i'd say give it to them, atleast we gained from it.

Imo I don't think you have to "do" something speciall to become a legend. Josh was a big name on this forum whom everyone knew who it was and even if he didn't quite played by the rules he's still a well known person and have brought atleast alot of "fun" posts.

Thats what I think it should be.

Y'all are making it seem like a "I did more work than you, I've been here longer than you. I deserve it, you don't" kind of thing. A legend is someone that everyone knows and everyone will always remember. You don't judge a legend by how much work they have done. You judge a legend by what they have done and how many remember it.

Really depends on the person. I definetly remember the people who worked for this place more then any other.

If Josh is made a legend I would leave RZ simple as that. It would be an insult for the current legends for him to be equal to them.

Why do I feel like that? What did he actually do? He was a mod. A poor one at that. He abused his powers and was a rude jerk to users. Which is why he was demoded.

On top of that. He was the biggest spammer her. The only person to come here and out spam me. The only difference is that his was pure pointless spam and mine wasn't.

I have nothing wrong with him being unbanned though as soon as he starts acting up again I will ban him myself.

Also about his posts being returned. Not in a life time. If he gets them back I will personally delete all of his spam. You know what that means? 90% of his posts will be deleted. Hard deleted that is so they can't be undone.

Am I being an ass here? Yes I am but that's only because he pissed me off too many times with his rude behavior, pointless spam, and power abuse that he did when he was a mod.

I'm sorry, but 1) i do not believe you have read any of the PM's that have occurred between Kaoii and myself, 2) I don't believe you were a mod when i QUIT (how you came up with the story of me being demodded by force, i have no fkn idea), 3) oh hes such a saint isn't he, through PM's he was a complete different person and used any means to threaten you.

Shouldn't mods base their actions on neutral ground instead of personal dislike?

Shouldn't you as a ex-mod atleast give him the courtesy of actually reading his post?

The removal of his posts was done to make a point against his spamming. NoPeace is just stating that if they were to be given back that he will go through his account to make that point again, that's not personal, that's just to make a point, like the first action, that spam is not wanted.

I don't have to be a mod to have you demoded. My word has always went a long way here and I told Kaoii to demod you and that is why he started crap with you.

I was a super when you two was made into mods and it just happens when you was demoded I wasn't a mod because I got fed up with crap and left. Then with the way you to was acting I got pissed off and went out of my way to give reasons for you two to be demoded. Well mostly you because at the time you had the bigger e-penis. Then I became mod and Josh's e-penis got too big and I had Kaoii to cut it off.

And if you haven't notice. I've talked against how MentaL does his job for years. The same with Exy here now. I constantly bitch to him about how he isn't doing his job.

Only person that did Admin in a somewhat right fashion was Kaoii but in the end his e-penis got too big also.

Your own fault for you not being able to be a mod no more. I've seen you abuse your powers a few times and you were over the top rude at times. That is why no one can trust you to become a mod again.

And if Kaoii made it so that your friends wont talk to you then that's just pathetic. If they were your friends they wouldn't have listen to him in the first place.

Not that I don't like him but as Gohan said. To have the point remain.

Post count meant a lot to Josh as every post gave him a bigger e-penis. That is why Kaoii removed 2k from his count. To give him the message that if you spam you will only loose posts instead of gain them.

And I want that message to stay here for spammers to see. If you are going to post random bull shit then you need to know that it wont get you anywhere as they will be removed.

The only reason why I never removed his spam was because most of it was done when I wasn't a super and when I was a super before hand I had a code that I followed which I never removed the posts of a mod. But things have changed since then as now the average mod is less mature then a long term n00b here. :glare:
