I played the demo on my PS3, I don't think it's worth the money since the gameplay kinda sux, and there was preety much no storyline in the demo also.
devil may cry has always looked good, butt the combat system always felt kinda cumbersome to me...maybe im just used to the ninja gaiden system (same style of game but i prefer it) which btw theres a new one coming out soon reaper scythe looks kick ass.
But i'd still buy it cus im an achievement whore (not a problem for you ps3 owners)
Devil May Cry 1 and 3 are both great games. I've played through Devil May Cry 4 on Xbox 360 and I love the cheesy cocky comments Dante \ Nero constantly keeps making.
The game itself have a LOT of story. It might not be very interesting, but it's there. The combat system is awesome, but having the ability to set combos to "Automatic" ruins the game.
If you're a button-masher DMC4 is not your game. No Combos, No fun.
It took me about 4 hours in-game played to complete it on Easy, Manual Combos. As usual, after completing the game once, you Unlock Dante. Though I haven't been able to play with Dante from the start.
I've beaten it already. If you like the Devil May Cry series then you'll like this game.
Graphics are top notch and the story is pretty good as well.
It's a typical hack and slash so it's just button mashing most of the time, but if you're into that then you'll love this game.
I want this game so bad, but I want to completely finish 2 and 3 first. Also, I'm not sure if I want to pay the whole 60 for it seeing as I also want to get Lost Odyssey.
Awesome series and awesome game. Although not as insanely difficult as Devil May Cry 3. It's still challenging on the harder difficulties and presents a whole new character to play with besides Dante. Which I was kind of skeptical at first about. But, it turns out that Nero is just as badass as Dante...well Dante is still a helluva lot more badass.
The story line is solid and the game play is top notch. Cinematics are as as vibrant as you'd expect on a next-gen system and the voice-acting is spot on. Great lines from Dante and Nero both.
All in all the game was awesome for me and definitely worth putting in my collection. I gave the game 8.5/10
I own DMC3 Special Edition for the PS2, and i gotta say that it surely gets in my top3 console games... About DMC4, it does not get everything out of the PS3, and for all i'v seen bout the game, it could easily be brought out on the PS2 also. the gameplay in DMC4 is like Flawz says, not the same, if you look at the controls. there surely is a storyline, but just like in the 3rd game, you gotta pay attention IN the game.. not skip everything and just kill, kill and kill.... if you like a quick, different hack 'n slash game, you gotta buy this one
Devil may cry series are awesome :) Didnt play a DMC4 yet ,but i think its very good
really.. does nobody agree with me if i say that it could of been made for the PS2? i mean, the graphs are nice, but not like Final Fantasy 13 is gonna be... like i said, it doesnt show the real power of the PS3...
I liked DMC3. I did check out the previews on this one and it. I guess I'll go for it. Gaming on High Definition is a totally different experience.
Meh...i played 1+2, getting 3 for the PC when i go to buy 4 =] That makes sense doesnt it?
I thought that was obvious?
they said they wanted the ps3 and 360 version to be as much alike as they could. so they held back alot of the PS3's power to make it look close to the 360's version. and why would anyone release a new game on an old console anyways it's 2008 get with the times (to people still using PS2/Xbox)
I have a ripped DMC3SE on my PC, still play it.
Kick ass game.
Can't wait for DMC4.
I have followed the DMC series since it's initial release in October of 2001, through the horrendous disappointment that was DMC 2 in 2003, and the controller-shattering goodness that was DMC 3 in 2005. I also got the DMC 4, it's awesome, looks great
The game looks great, but gameplay wise it's nothing new if you've played the previous games.
I wouldn't really recommend buying it, would say to rent it instead --- it will get repeatitive and stale quick.
And it doesn't help in the least, where half way through you switch to Dante and run back through the entire game to which you've just covered with Nero earlier.
