A while back in Ascent revs 800+ I was compiling lol. I wonder if I should do that again?
Vote:
Shall I compile public releases again?
If so:
Should I compile clean?
Or should I compile with custom scripts?
Vote please :P

Do it, and I'd enjoy some of your Custom Scripts right about now. A few people are having problems with the new Ascent and Script compiles, like me -.-!
if you install .net framework 3.5 and use mysql 5.0 you shouldn't encounter any problems Poote... ;)
people needs to learn how to compile themselves...otherwise i dont really see them as "worthy" of having a server... so, dont compile, and release your scripts if thats what you want.
same thoughts mgX^
but to tell the truth, i have learned also first how to USE the server before i learned to compile :)
Hi
Well be glad to have u back and if u could it will be cool if u compile both new and clean :D
Yeah compile Ure own version and look around for the custom scripts issue, include is the magic word...
Compile again! why you should not?, is always helpful having options also do it with custom scripts, like fixing some broken quest if you want to...
I cant connect on your server I created an account upgraded to 2.3.3 deleted my cache folder set my realmlist and nothing...
I don't really care if you compile any... If you want to do it why ask us. It's your decision.
Too many repackers trying to release too many repacks, they're all the same crap.
Don't do it, no point just releasing something 10 million people have done already. Just release your custom scripts.
You should just give sources for scripts!!
All the tools are free, and there's 100000x tutorials on how to compile ascent.
While there will still be people that refuse to learn how to compile their own, there are also oodles of people hoping for some scene love by doing the compiles and releasing them. (Again, seriously, ANYONE can compile ascent. I know jack about c++ and I can compile/modify my ascent core on my own.)
Scripts/DLL's, on the other hand. That's where the knowledge is less public (not that it's private, just less people know) and could certainly contribute to the scene a great deal.
An example would be WarpNPC's. Again, while easily made on your own, they're a little more daunting than a simple Ascent compile, and therefor seem to be in pretty high demand.
Another example would be an npc I seen in a repack long ago that was a "Gambling NPC". You'd buy a "ticket" (a bag) and that ticket has a chance to "win" money. It was simply x% chance to drop x gold per bag. I thought this npc in specific was awesome, and wish I could find one for the newer cores. Looked into doing it myself, but never found out how the author of the original was able to apply a chance to drop loot to bags purchased from a vendor.
