5 to 20 push ups in 20 days?
My recruiter thanks so. I just found out that I have been doing a wide push up or w/e. I don't know if thats more easy or not. Just tried to do the 'normal' push up and arms are killing me. But yet my chest doesn't hurt (mainly back side of my arm).
The recruiter said to do the following.
-Day 1: Do 3 push ups (out of 5 I can do), rest for 1-2 mins, do 3 push ups again. Repeat till you can't do anymore. Then do again before bed.
-Day 2: Jog 30mins then walk 30mins.
repeat
Now I did the push ups at around 1pm today and it is now 5:17pm and my arms are still tired and really can't do them. Is this the best way and I've read online that even if you can't do them normally do the 'girl push ups' if needed. I tried to do them on the side of a table around waste high and damn hurt almost as bad as doing them on ground.
I need to at least do 17 to be able to enter. So hoping this works or something.
(I don't have the extra $$ to buy stuff so has to be things at home)

Maybe you should rest your arms one day.
Its very hard for your muscles when you just started training, but after a month or so, they wont hurt as much.
And remember to eat lots of protein (Eggs, Tuna, Fish, meat etc.)
because when you train, your muscles cant follow up the protein they should,
and that is why it hurts and u get tired ;)

They don't as much as hurt as they do feel heavy. Its not as bad now I guess I just needed a little more time.
I don't have a month :P I got 20days well 19 if you count today. I guess I'll just follow up on what my recruiter said and see if it works. If not its his fault not mine for believing in me lol jk jk....
Oh and i'm going into the army for 25B Information Technology Specialist so should be fun I guess and something I can take to the real work afterwards.

I know this is a little off-topic/random, but i know something, and i feel special, so i want to get it off my chest..
Those who are Slightly Over average Weight, Or even quite a bit, will get 'built' alot faster when training. Because there is more fat to be convered to muscle. At least thats what i heard.

Thats right...
Im overweigt. And i gained ALOT stronger in just one moth.
Maybe i didnt lose wight, but i can see my Fat% and muscle mass changes alot xD
But my friend wich im training with, his muscles grow slow, and he didnt gain many in this month.

Going off to basic training in 20days. Recruiter told me 2 weeks ago to wait till my physical is done and start the work out. So hoping he is right on what he said.

Are you doing any Sports atm?
It's important that if you are training to balance the activities you do on a daily basis, in other words, dont play a game of B-Ball then Train 'till the mornin'.

u will get to 20 pushups no problem mate, i think the routine of 1 day focusing on your press up target and 1 day working fitness is a great way to get started especially with your time limit
btw the reason the back ur arms are "hurting" more after "normal" pressups is because ur using ur triceps more, just using different muscle groups mate
all the best with meeting your target, work hard everyday and you will do fine

fat can not be converted into muscle, whoeve spouted that shit needs to go read a fucking book and do some exercise themsevles the fat shits

Fat does not turn into muscle...it never could...it never will.
Pushups...the fact that your muscles can't regain energy in 3 hours is a problem. You're not eating properly, or you're not drinking properly (water). There is no point of me comparing to you, because everyone is different...but muscles should be able to regain energy a lot faster than 3 hours, unless you were inactive your whole life time... and all of a sudden you want to be active. Jogging / Running is a good start, buy some weights... cost at around 30$ for 2x 35lbs dumbbells, with removable plates...start small, to build up your muscle tissue... and get used to exercising.

Hey I can probably help you out with the push ups. Before I joined I could barely do 20 now I can do around 80ish (In 2 minutes)... There are a few pills you can buy from GNC that will help you a little but it won't make you go from 5 to 17. You don't need to buy anything. Push ups are so simple you don't need equipment for them.
You'll need to do at least 42 to pass basic but that won't be a problem a few weeks in....
I think I know more then any of these guys passing a physical fitness test.
