DOS from Ragezone popups?

Thats right! I was looking at ragezone on my laptop (thank god it wasn't my desktop) and I get a popup for a site ... blank page ..... and notice a DOS window opens ...... I also notice it was the same url of the popup that was being repeated in the window.

I know its not Ragezones fault, but I'm just letting you all know that it can happen.


btw I closed the DOS window and then got the BOS (Blue Screen of Death)

Huh? The hell is that? never happened to me... but oh well, I never log out, so I don't get any ad pop-ups neither. I guess that one of the super head mods will take a look into it or something...

Nah, the only annoying thing I get from pop-ups is the ones that freeze and give me an error report. Than I have to log back in. The time it takes to re-login is the time it takes for me to glug half a can of Monster 8-l

Could it be possible you got the DOS from another site or spyware? and some things can just trigger it?

Hate to say this but I had only formatted my laptop 2 days ago :/ and the only thing I had open was ragezone ... guess it could of been a trojan or something.....

you really need to install firewalls, anti-virus and anti-spyware software before surfing the internet, especially sites that contains numerous ads and pop-ups

Yeh I think I've lernt my lesson now :/ oh well just have to hope my firewalls work now lol ....

Weird, I reformatted my laptop on Saturday and the worst thing I got from RZ was 75 SpyWare infections. God damn Clicksor...

I use AVG and SpyWare Doctorand it does me well

Download Ad-Aware and scan your computer. Getting a bsod from a popup is no where near normal lol.

If you just reformatted and re-installed WINDOWS, then without a firewall installed and active BEFORE you connect to the net, you have a high chance of being infected with something that finds you through a random port scan, which has zip to do with what sites' you've been on.

P.S: Use Firefox with NoScript and you have 99.9% less chance of being infected, without you actually doing something unsafe yourself. :thumb:

How about you use firefox and adblock+. It'll atleast stop the popups.
