[Information / Development] Fusing Risk Your Life 2 & GunZ The Duel

Yes Guys.
It Can Be Done.
Let Me Explain.
Earlier Today I Was Finished With Gunz, It Got Really Boring Too Me.
So I Decided Too Pick Up A New Mmorpg.
Ryl2 Seemed Preety Nice. Had Good Graphics Its Fun.
I Highly Recemond It.
But Back On Topic. While It WasI nstalling I Was Looking Through The Files.
And Came To The Conclusion It Is Just Like Gunz.
They Used .DDS Files And .Elu Files
I Went Into The Texture Folder And Thumbnail Viewd The Files.
It Is Awsomeeeee.
So Im Going To Begin To Experiment With A Few Things.
Going To Try And Put Ryl2 Items / Armors / Interface / Npc / Sfx Things.
I Will Be Makng A Whole New Quest With Ryl2 Based Npcs / Maps.
Then Those Things Into A GunZ Server.
It Can Be Done.
And If Im Not Mistaked I Would Be The First To Try It.
So Ja Im Going To Update This Post Very Soon With Images Of My Progress.
Im Going Too Soon Be Releasing Things In Release Section So Be Prepared.
I Have To Download My Server Files + Client Files All Over Because I Deleted Them.
Luckily I Uploaded A Backup To Megaupload.
So Wish Me Luck.

Well, good luck. I don't even think they'd use the same mesh calling method, although the elu and dds might be same.

can you upload 1 or 2 elu of weapons with there image for me? I will mess around with it and give it an try.

Kay Lemme Explain.
Just Like Gunz.
They Have The Images. [ .DDS Format ]
And The Other Files That Arent Images.
Looking Through It Somemore Today.
I Figured Out The .DDS Files Are Not Called Upon By .Elu Files.
But All The Files Are .DDS.
So I Had Too Figure Out How To Do It.
Then Came Up With If I Want Add A New Npc.
Just Hexedit Lets Say [ Skelton.mrs ]
Hex Edit Everything In There To The Ryl2 Npc .DDS Image And It Would Work.
Havent Been Able Too Test It Since All My Gunz Matchserver + Client Files Were Deleted Now Gotta Start From Scratch Again But I Should Be Able To Get Screenies By Tommrrow If Im Able To Acess My Comp.

So Basically Im Just Using The Image Files.
And Making Own .Elus

It won't be as easy as you say. The ELU's in Gunz and the ELU's in RYL aren't the same file format. Switching .DDS's won't work because the elu file has the bones of the skeleton that makes up the npcs.

Also: You can't just fuse 2 games without any type of knowledge in programming or even the slightest idea how to do it, especially not without any type of source.
And what's the idea? Making gunz players dash through the world of RYL2, killing npc's?

Also, .DDS-files are just images wrapped over a model. You can't use them seperatly, they contain no model information.

.DDS files(at least in gunz)are editable images, meaning they can be converted to .bmp without the model information.

Now if you meant .ELU, then your point is clearly valid.

I'm talking about .DDS as they are just the textures that are put over the .ELU file.

There are many coders out there. Yet, this is out of perspective. It would be a legion thing if it was going to be done, and even for him this is a bit much.

It's not really a mather of skills, I just don't see the use of spending a couple of months fusing a game, while you can make an original new game in a couple months more. (Which would be very basic).
