Setting up 1.01E server 100% !! [ROUTER GUIDE]

Hiyaa,

We'll since ppl asked me to make a guide about 1.01E i said ahhh what the hell, i'll do this i'm bored anywayz.
We'll here i am, I'll explain everything very detailed so even my grandma can make her own damn server 1.01E.
So if u follow this guide step by step u'll notice it isen't that hard to make your own server.
So let's start:

What we are going to do ;;

1.) Installing Microsoft SQL Server.
2.) Unzipping & Downloading the server files.
3.) Restoring the databases.
4.) Changing IPs.
5.) Opening ports.
6.) Starting Server.
7.) Setting up client.
8.) Setting up NO-IP.
9.) Setting up cool website.


Installing Microsoft SQL Server

Step [1]
-First of all download the Microsoft SQL Server here: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...73/SQLEVAL.exe
Step [1.1]
-Extract SQLEVAL.exe
Step [1.2]
-Run Setup.exe and click ''next'' 8 times.
Step [1.3]
-It will show up a window named : Services Accounts
Step [1.4]
-In the Service Settings set it to Use the Local System Account. * else it will give you an error *
Step [1.5]
-Click next and u will see a window named : Authentication Mode window
Step [1.6]
-Set it to Mixed Mode(Windows Authentication and SQL server Authentication) * make sure u make the right password. Tip : sa
Step [1.7]
-u need the sa account + password for Online Registration like Mutoolz ! and making ODBC Reg like Mutoolz !
- After that Click ''Next'' and contineu the installation. * now this part is done *

Unzipping & Downloading the server files

Step [2]
Download the server files: 1.01E_Server_files.rar - FileFront.com
[UPLOADED BY MEE!!]
Step [2.1]
Unzip the server files into let's say your C:/ drive. It should look like this:

Go to:

C:/MuServer/ODBC Links/ODBC Links.reg

and click on it twice, and OK.
Step [2.3]
You probably noticed i putted some tools in the server files, to config your server/client good ;)

Restoring the databases.

We're now going to restore the databases.
Now pay attention !!

Step [3]
Since you've succesfully installed Microsoft SQL Server, go to ;;

Start->All Programs->Microsoft SQL Server->Service Manager

Step [3.1]
After that start Enterprise Manager ;;

Start->All Programs->Microsoft SQL Server->Enterprise Manager

Step [3.2]
Click the "+" sign three times, Untill you see "Databases".
Step [3.3]
Right click on the map Databases and click: "New Database..."
Step [3.4]
Make 2 new databases and call them "MuOnline" and "Ranking" .
Step [3.5]

Right click on MuOnline -> All Tasks -> Restore Database.

Step [3.6]

From Device -> Select Devices... -> Add... -> ...

And search for MuOnline.bak

Click OK three times and go to the tab "Options".
Step [3.8]
You'll see 2 items called: MxMuonline_Data & MxMuonline_Log !
Change the D:/ to C:/ for both files.
Step [3.9]
Click "Force restore over existing database" and than click "OK".
Step [3.10]
Repeat these steps for Ranking but use the Ranking.bak instead of MuOnline.bak.

Changing IPs.

Opening Ports

People who knows how to open ports, skip this part.

put your defualt gateaway in your browser, it should look something like this ;;

Open the following ports ;;

Starting Server

Step [6]
I always like to keep my server links organized, so i use MuServerStartup.
I also putted the file in the server files i uploaded.
Step [6.1]
Open the MuServerStartup.exe and click "Configuration"
Step [6.2]
Change the "127.0.0.1" in the joinserver line to your "GLOBAL IP".
Step [6.3]
Save it and put your "LOCALIP" where it says IP:
Step [6.4]
Click START and you've succesfully configured your own 1.01E+ server.

Setting up client

Step [7]
Download the client here: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
Step [7.1]
Unzip the client anywhere you want.
Step [7.2]
In the client u'll see a file named: roar.txt
Step [7.3]
Open it and u'll see couple of things in there, LIKE THIS ;;

Step [7.4]
Save the file and open up the launcher.
Step [7.5]
You can now connect to your own server.

Setting up NO-IP

The reason why most people use no-ip is because it hides your ip and it looks nicer than a regular ip.
The outcome will be nicer than normal ip, so if u want to give your website a nicer look, i recommend to follow these steps, and ofcourse the people who already knows this go to the next step.

Step [8]
Go to: No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP
Step [8.1]
Register and login.
Step [8.2]
Go to Add and put your server name in there.
Step [8.3]
make the outcome whatever you want for example: yourservername.no-ip.org
Step [8.4]
Double check if your IP is right and press "Create Host".
Step [8.5]
Than go to downloads and download the no-ip for your OS.
Step [8.6]
Install the no-ip and open it up.
Step [8.7]
You'll notice that your host you've just created is in there.
Step [8.8]
Highlight it and you'll see the icon laughing or either blushing :oops:

Setting up cool website

We are now going to setup a website, so people can register, add stats, reset easily without you have to do everything. So let's get started;; U can use any website u want but i prefer MuWeb 8.0.
Step [9]
Download a webserver, I use Appserv.

Install the webserver anywhere u want.
Step [9.2]
Download the website files here:

Step [9.3]
Go to: C:/Appserv/www/ and delete all the files in the www folder.
Step [9.4]
Put all the files from the MuWeb 8.0 into the www folder.
Step [9.5]
Now go to: http://127.0.0.1/install/install.php and follow these steps.
Step [9.6]
You've succesfully installed your own website.
People can find your website either by your no-ip or global ip.
Example: Not Found: yourservername.no-ip.org

This guide cost me like hours to explain , pfff finally ready.

Hope this guide will help some newbies out there.
If you have any problems occured please feel free to ask.

PS: If your having problems with disconnect when hit the server button just install Microsoft Loopback Adapter.

PS : Heroia Midgard started as 1.01e and have been adding files and coding stuff,and they are now full season 2.
Sexy Mu also started 1.01e and they were one of the best servers around.

lol because that error is your Gameserver.exe crashing,its not even running.
Make sure you have correct IP and sql password,and turn off your anti virus and/or firewall,and I bet that it will fix the problem ;)

If that error occur, you'r gameserver won't even start.

If you have a router u still have to open ports.
But to play offline u should only put 127.0.0.1 instead of all the global// local IPs

one question how to change level to teleport to arena..in frienz mu server files is set to 350 or 400 how do i change that please answer me..

If you opened the MuOnline.bak perfectly no error should occur.
Check again please, than tell me if the errors is still there.

U should edit the "Movereg.bmd" located in the "<ClientName>/Data/Local
U can edit your lvl requirements there.
You should also edit it in the server side,

Well now i tried GameServer with LOCAL, GLOBAL and just 127.0.0.1 , i desactivated my firewall and antivirus, i started the guide all over again and opened ports:

changed all ips as i should, i typed correctly my password and i still get exactly the same error :S

We'll when you've opened the MuOnline.bak and clicked OK three times u'll see a tab called "Options"

Good guide, but it doesn't work for me.

I have the passwords set properly and the IPs are 127.0.0.1 (I just want to play alone). Everything works great, starts up nice and fast on my new computer, but when it gets to the game server, it crashes and VS's debugger selecter window pops up.

avast! is disabled and so is the Windows Firewall. I'm using XP Professional service pack 2. I noticed that someone has already had this issue other than me, but there doesn't seem to be a working solution. Help, anyone?

So can i replace the global ips with my no-ip???

I have a question:
In GameServer, config and mx_config what ip should i put istead of 127.0.0.1?(I mean the Global or the Local)

i get virus "error" on Customdb.exe :S i don't have firewall on or virus program help?? =)

I've tested and scanned all the files, if you followed the guide correctly all should work fine !

I try to start the server and the only thing that runs is dataserver1 all the rest come up with errors saying "can not connect" or "can not log" P.S does this work with vista or is that my problem

Heard that Sql Server 2000 doesnt work on Vista

it seems to run and looks as tho it works but if it dont then dang just got this pc yesterday always wanted my own server

mmm,all work for me (all launched without errors)
With global ip: any error but in connectserver.exe (Joinserver status is off)
with no ip: joinserver.exe sent always WSAsend() failed with error 10013 (every second) and i have too connectserver.exe (Joinserver status is off)

It nothing happen.... just Runing... and program not run any file more... what happen?

I run one by one file (past the CustomDB.exe) so when run gameserver.exe it stop and show Not Responding...

Ok im having a problem at the beginning :P i got a dutch computer so i (try to) translate it to english.
When i downloaded the 1.01E server files and stuff, i unzipped first at my desktop (that was a little mistake :P) then i removed that because he showed a error (i will tell that error later here) and i unzipped it again in my F:\ folder...

So here my problem: when i unzip everything, he will give an error when he wants to unzip "CustomDB.exe", he say that the access is denied. then 1 second later my virus scan pops up (AVG) and say that its a trojan (the customdb.exe)

Pllz tell me what i have to do now ^^ i will go on with the tutorial... so i can add stuff later.. i hope everything will work :P

I hope i get an awnser soon ^___^ (sorry for bad english IF ITS THERE:P)

I had the same problem with the CustomBD!! but it works for me now! :D

I KNOW (with AVG) HOW TO FIX THE CUSTOMBD ERROR!!!

if you got any virusscanner, shut it down COMPLETELY!!! well it didnt work for me.. but, i had AVG, and if you got AVG i can help u... Dubble click on the AVG icon (right under) and a control center will appear, you will see 7 things, dubble click on the "Resident Shield" and remove the V thingy, you know.. the little box :P turn it off xD!
Then put the CustomDB into the map and then you can do whatever u want ^__^
i think you can put on the resident shield on again.. i dont know for sure but.. i think so ^__^ you can always try :D it works now for me only when i start he MuServerStart or something it take ages here xD goes REEEEEAAAAALLLLLLLYY slow :P

Hi, thanks for the guide Mine Works almost 100% but when i connect to my server using my launcher the server name doesn't show up, i am not disconnected but the only main problem is that the server name doesn't show up, how do i fix this any idea?

Open a new tab and write http://192.168.1.1 then login with your account & password and there you have the router cp. Then go to Port Open and open them :p About no-ip,go to no-ip website,create an account and then click on Add a host :winky:

i have same problem as you encountered. i follow all the step including the discussions but still server crashing.

anybody can help?

for global ip, i used : " Your IP: 208.116.34.18 " ??
for local ip, i used : 192.168.2.3 since my router gateway was 192.168.2.1 ??

are the ip's i set were correct ?

I think you all need to change GS, i think when you package it you need to cracking it. If you dont do it! The GS crashes my tip is getting the files from www.*************** and that working,

viruses is fakes... get a real anti-virus
*Symantec Antivirus i have, no viruses at these files so far.*

well.....our friend here made a guide without know well the IP locations
i had the same problem with you guyz....when i launch the start up
game server was messed up....as result to terminate....so i download new gameserver from another 1.01E files and it worked.....but this time i couldnt see the connect icon when i was in game.....so i understood that was IP mistake....
i ask few friends and told me how to add IP's.....

here now u will see the conect icon just put the IP's just like i show you....
but now there is another problem...when u conect it says that a newer version is available........that was my prob in 97d+99i server....i download main editor and i located the main and put the same serial as the C:\muserver\data\lang\kor\commonlong said.....but thats for 97d+99i......


So i need help to solve this problem.....how fix at 1.01E the newer version is available error

i dont know probably ;) but still.......we need to know how fix that think ...NEWER VERSION AVAILABLE DOWNLOAD IT......pffffff.....this guide is useless....its main.exe is destroyed...i suggest download client from realeases....

u have problem restoring the databases huh ?
Ok look......when u press .... and select destination then press OK then OK then options and u will see the items u located at C now u see them as D:\ replace the D:\ with C:\ and u will be done ;)

I did that and same error i get. and it only happen with the MuOnline baks, ranking works perfectly.

oh and what's the problem some people are having with starting the mu but the server doesn't show up?

thats noobies mistake.....server dont show up coz IP are not right...look page 3 i wrote how you must put the IP's to make it show up....but then...whe nu try conect it says that new version available=main.exe messed up :S you should better ask for new 1.01E guide

either because in the start up program your directory to customDB is wrong or you didnt make your odbc links

You need to run Muserverstartup.exe as administrator if I'm not mistaken. (Because you're on Vista)
