[help] Gaming System!

Hey guys i am purchasing this computer used from a local guy, it is about 6 months old, in good condition, asking price is $400. i would like to know if this is a good deal for $400.

That's a very good deal. That graphics card alone is about $250.

thank you, i am using it right now as we speak, lol. i am having trouble with his wireless adapter....so hard to catch a signal.

guys i have a problem, i tried to install my 250gb sata harddrive, but nothing comes up, i plugged it into the mobo and booted it up, nothing comes up for the hd, like its not even there.. help?

It's not formatted / partitioned.
Go to administrative tools and go to computer management, then to disk management. it should show up there. or see if it shows up as a question mark in device manager

If it's new then you need to initialize it in disk management.

Also if your motherboard is only SATA compliment and you are using SATA II drive then make sure the jumper on the drive is set right.

it only had 1 plug, from the hd to the mobo. i have a feeling i am missing another plug

and last night my computer was acting very weird, i couldnt use my browser, i am using firefox, i typed in all kinds of url's but the screen loaded up fast but it was always a blank page.. i restarted few times, same thing happens. so i ran 2 virus scans AVG and NOD32, i woke up this morning (10minutes ago) and noticed they were still not finished!!! wtf?!? i closed them both, then restarted, now the comp works flawlessly... any ideas??

Yes. You are missing another plug. You need to plug the power into the hard drive.

erm ^^ i dont think you got the greatst deal that graphics card isnt worth 250 $

That happens to me when my router can't handle all the connections. Were you by chance running a P2P app such as utorrent?

no i wasnt, i do not use torrents

Probably just one off glitch then. Ignore it.

I think you should buy that, but it could be a rip-off. =S
