Really nervous?

A girl in my class had to present a speech today..

She's a nervous and clumsy girl, always falling down the stairs and crying, always turning bright red like a cherry when doing stuff.. It's weird.

Today, she did her speech in front of the class (25 students, and 3 teachers). After, all of these rashs appeared on her chest and arms. She asked to go to the washroom because she was feeling sick. She went there, and was there for a very long time, so my teachers started sending girls in to check up on her. The teacher then took her to the teacher lounge, so she could get water from the water cooler, as she was feeling really really sick. Then, my friend asked to go to the washroom, as he walked by the teacher lounge, he saw her on the floor, she had fainted.

She told us all it was because she was nervous. But wtf? Have any of you ever been that nervous?

I've never seen anyone faint after doing a 3 minute speech..

Self-esteem level?

I ust to see quite a few people faint in my school days but not because of being nervous. But no i have never seen someone faint because of being nervous.

I just find it weird, never seen it ever before happening after a 3 minute speech..

Yeah but maybe its 'cause people kept picking on her, telling shes ugly etc etc.
or she didn't have any experience.

once in my school we had to do oral exams, infront of 120 people. Was funny as hell to see people totally lock up.

Well the fear of messing up and people mocking you is huge =O

I had a guy faint during one of our German A level oral exams, but that was only because he hadn't prepared a thing since GCSE and knew full well he was going to flunk it. I get nervous speaking in front of people especially during interpreting but i've never had a reaction as bad as that.

Personally I dont get nervous in these types of situations, then again that's not nessecarily a good thing.
