[FW] Parkers Website Layout Previews
I've been getting into web design for the past week and a bit now and I have made these layouts and coded them and everything and I was wondering what layout I should go with, it will just be for a portfolio/blog type of thing so it will just be a simple website nothing to advanced with images flying everywhere.
Should I continue with any of them or do a different one?
Thanks Parker.
Re: Parkers Website Layout Previews
i like the first one for its simplisity, and the last one cuz of the sweet logo lol but you use to much gray, why not try a red or sumthin?
Re: Parkers Website Layout Previews
Yeah I'm not very colour coordinated
Wouldn't have a clue what red Page Ranking means, I only been doing it for a week and abit now lol.
Re: Parkers Website Layout Previews
Parker may I recommend doing a rollover effect? When you roll over the gray picture it switches into color? I think that would add a bit more life to it, and fix your debate on rather or not to have it colored.
Re: Parkers Website Layout Previews
It a nice design. But you got to think about the colours a bit more.
Re: Parkers Website Layout Previews
i dont know what a page ranking is either... it was supposed to say red or something ROTFLOL i fixed it...

Nice idea, I'll implement that when I hope onto my laptop.

Yeah I think about that everytime I go to add something, but I'm crap at mixing colours with each other, any colours you recommend go together for any of the layouts, with Cronulla Designs I want to keep it blue because blue represents Cronulla.

Nope I don't get ya

Not quite :P
Yeah, to old. No to original.
It's like the difference between Starbucks and a local cafe that's been there since the 70s/80s:
In Starbucks you get nicely painted warm colours, leather sofas, beech furniture, hanging lamps, young stylish looking gay guy serving you, etc.
In the cafe you get coffee stained chequered table cloth, crappy top of the charts pop music, faded lime green walls, overweight middle-aged woman serving you with a hair net.
Although both serving the same purpose, they're both in different eras/styles.
Excuse the obvious stereotype, but I'm not exactly over the top exagerating.
Try googling Web 2.0
EDIT:
Web 2.0 example:
www.bebo.com
Old-looking, out of date:

Don't ask why I'm using KKK, I really don't have a clue.
Re: [FW] Parkers Website Layout Previews
That's one hell of an explanation but I see your point though.
Point taken.
Thanks.
Re: [FW] Parkers Website Layout Previews
Hmm. I must agree with KyleEnos.
Also its kinda 0815 design (0815 means you see it almost everywhere).
Get into different design pages. Take closers looks. Check the color themes.
Try to do the best that you can do with your skills. Don't think you can't do such stuff. Always try to start with the small details till you see the whole work. I tried the other way first, with concept n stuff... But it ain't work for me :P
So go ahead and check pages like 2Advanced v5 - Attractor or Bionic Systems — Studio for Design & New Media. This website is for sale![/url] and get some fresh color themes from COLOURlovers :: Color Trends + Palettes .
Maybe read some tutorials from PSDTuts - Photoshop Tutorials and Links - Spoonfed Photoshop Tutorials or Computer Arts - Tutorials .
Have fun :P

2Advanced v5 - Attractor - Awesome website, one thing is that I didn't really know what to do on that  there was stuff all over the place and didn't know where to go from there.
Bionic Systems — Studio for Design & New Media - This was a really good website, especially with the logo and website design, I read alot of it and bookmarked as well for future reference.
COLOURlovers :: Color Trends + Palettes - Well I went to this site and the first thing that came to my attention was a topic and it was COLOURlovers :: Color Forums / Color Talk / Showcase Your Work / Vaginal Appearance and then I just read the stuff on the page and I go as far as one guy licking another chick and I closed it.
Computer Arts - Tutorials - I really enjoyed this website, had alot of useful stuff on it, I also bookmarked this one.
Thanks for the constructive posts and I think I should start fresh from a completely different angle this time.
Thanks, Parker.
