It's wiki dude, could very easily be fake.
Agree with Strider.
BTW what happened to the Loch Ness monster? I saw him in my shower. Is the Bloop also like that?
i have strange sounds coming out of my ass everymorning - it is an animal like sound that according to the profile the animal should be 200 feet tall and shit ... but i dont see a wiki about that ...
so errm i forgot where i was going with this
Google it. Its everywhere. Idk wether you can read the actual science reports about it but im sure you can read about them.
I've heard of bloop.
its on NASA's website somewhere i think.
Its probably just a whale.
Maybe a whale farted?
Whale queef anyone?
CNN.com - Tuning in to a deep sea monster - June 13, 2002
There's an CNN article about it. Things like this have always intrigued me. The creature must have an incredibly strong body too, to be able to have a gas sack/lungs at such depth.
They said the sound was too big to be produced by a whale. If a whale produces a sound, they are able to identify it. This sound however was produced by something MUCH BIGGER than a blue whale. It couldnt be a Giant Squid either since they dont have gas filled sacs needed.
This isnt spamzilla mate.
Oh thanks for the article. This topic has got me so interested. After reading this article, I realized that it cant be a giant squid since they dont have a gas filled sac. So the thing has to be bigger than anything we have seen before. And i doubt its going to be friendly...

You guys can also hear the Bloop on Wikipedia. Please keep in mind that this is really really deep in the ocean and such sounds are never heard down there. This sound was more dangerous than an earthquake which should give you an idea on how big it is. (Thanks to Exthero for showing me)
I dunno dude, I do some pretty powerful farts, I'm sure a whale could release some crazy ass jazz!
On a serious note though, I did see that CNN report too, and it is fairly interesting. Who knows what it could be.
Typo, by CNN. Nice.Quote:
earchquake
I like the sound :o
I'm scared now.
it's probly got somthin to do with the earth rather then an organism.
The sound was actually pretty scary imo. If youre hearing it from 3,200 miles away, and its that loud, imagine hearing it beside the monster.
they could have at least given it a better name. I mean I just can't take something called "The Bloop" seriously. It is definitely interesting, but if huge monsters existed in the ocean, i'm sure we'd have some better evidence by now. It could have been trapped gas escaping from a crack in the earth. It could have been the ground moving. Could've been an equipment error. who knows.
There is also one called ''Slow Down''.
Yeah, I doubt it is some huge monster. Probably more like Konrow said, gas releasing or something.
All those are very smart assumptions that scientists have also made. They have been incorrect however because...
1.The sound had the profile of being made by a living thing. That is why the first conclusion was that it was an overgrown whale making the sound, but even an overgrown whale cant produce something like that.
2.Gas escaping from the ground and and the ground moving have diffrent sounds. They have been heard before, and when those sounds were compared with "The Bloop", the noises were very diffrent from each other.
3.This sound was not only heard by one microphone, but by several of them. The US Navy had hundereds upon hundreds of these out in the ocean to listen for Soviet submarines, and this noise was picked up by the number of microphones placed around the South American continent. Now you can argue that all of those microphones were deffective, but I doubt that.
I dont know if you guys would take as much interest as i have into this, but when you have some spare time, google the topic and read some of the reports on this. It explains a lot :P
What puzzles me though, that gigantic creatures like that aren't supposed to live on such depth. The general rule of thumb is, that how deeper you go, the smaller the creatures get. So either this creature must have an incredibly strong body, or his body must be all jellow like.
Brainfuck!
A giant jellyfish would really suck.... Maybe it's like a huge crab!
Giant animals have been found. Well, nearly all are found in fossils, but there's still giant octopus and giant squid. So why not giant jellyfish? =O
