[Tutorial] How to host on a router without HAM
Ok, Many people host with HAM. I know a way on how to host without hamachi.
What you need to do this tutorial:
-To know how to portforward
OK first portforward on the PC your going to host with. (USE YOUR HOST PC's IP "Start > Run.... > CMD > Ipconfig")
After you have portforward sign up for No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP make your self a redirection to your IP
Now Got to "C:/WINDOWS/System32/drivers/ect/host.file" and open it with note pad or word pad
And after 127.0.0.1 create a new line add the redirection you made on No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP
Example:
Code:
# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
SuperOT.no-ip.org your server
Save it and your done.

Re: How to host on a router without HAM
Humm.. Nice reply now tell me what the hell its meant to mean?, I didn't ask how to port forward. Please don't just read the topic, Read the Post. Thank you and if that was on the topic then your only 50% right. Yes you need to portforward. I know how to do that. But what most people don't know what to do is host with out using hamachi (portforward and add the redirected IP to the host.file). I'm telling people because I know... Now if you want to be useful don't help me on some thing I all ready know.
Re: How to host on a router without HAM
Ok man I personaly think if this is gonna work its a GREAT guild for what im wanting to do now if i wanna host my server under my no-ip.org/biz/servergame
Ect...
I did all that and i put my no-ip thing in this should ppl be able to connect to my habbo server? because my ip changes alot...and will no-ip.com chnage that if it dose so i dont have to go in all the time and change it?
edit: and would everyone that connect have to do that to?
because my brother in law has to have everyone do that to thier files and when his ip changes he has to go into no-ip and change it.

I usually don't use ham when I'm setting up servers, but it's really tasty to eat,
