[VSE] Problem Installing Visual Studio Compilers
Specs
1.5Ghz Intel Celeron M
2048 mb ddr2 ram
80 gig harddrive (47.1Gb free)
Windows XP Home With SP2.
.Net 3.5
I tried to install Visual C# 2008 Express first. I tried the download installer first. I started the installer it said I had to remove Visual Studio Beta (Codename Orca). I did that. I go back in it downloads the files no problem. It installs the optional components no problem. When it gets to the core files though the installer stops, the cancel button goes to un-pressable (faded gray) back to pressable, then non again. A second after the cancel button flashes the setup crashes. With this error
Error Signature:
Code:
EventType : visualstudio8setup P1 : 10861
P2 : 9.0.21022.08_orcas_x86_net P3 : msi P4 : inst P5 : f
P6 : ca_beginhelptransaction.3643236f_fc70_11d3_a5 P7 : - P8 : 1603
P9 : - P10 : -
So I download the DVD image from the site and try it locally. I get the same error.
I download the Visual C# 2005 express DVD image. I try to install and get the same error.
I don't know what happened. Orca was working just fine.
I get the same error for all four compilers VC++, VCS, VB, and Webdesigner. Ok three compilers and an editor.
Thanks for your time and help,
Beet Da Brat
Re: [VSE] Problem Installing Visual Studio Compilers
Was Orcas installed on some kind of removeable device? (Such as an external hard drive etc)
Re: [VSE] Problem Installing Visual Studio Compilers
No. It was installed on the primary harddrive. I reformatted anyway, the computer was getting slow. If it doesn't work this time Ill post again. Yay 16/106 updates done... Lol.
