Ladies and Gentleman, we finally have a chance to rid the cinematic world of a cancer. Uwe Boll, the German director behind such horrid video game adaptations as House of the Dead, BloodRayne, Dungeon Siege and Postal, has recently admitted that he would retire from making movies if enough people want him to stop. When FearNet mentioned to Boll a petition online signed by 18,000 people requesting that he cease making films, Boll responded that

for those who doesnt understand the point of the sigs:
uwe boll was making (and is) some movies based on videogames, but he doesnt get the point of what is he doing, he make them look worse that they are, if ur a fan of the game ull hate it cozz of his fault, when u look that it will be a movie based on ur favorite game u spect at least a decent one (like tomb raider, silent hill, hitman, even doom for gods sake) but what is making uwe its crap. so...lets see on other perspective, if ur a fan of comics, a fan of green lantern for example and u heard that it will be a movie of him then u get excited and want to see a nice movie almost like the comics, but then what u see its an horrible adaptation with actors taken from the wild, 150 usd budget and effects worse than batman of the 50's ... then u got dissapointed... isnt? well, to make things worse, they doesnt stop right there, they make a sequel even worse !! or they take another comic character ur fan of... and make a movie like the last one. u begin to hate comics or the producers (in this case hes a producer AND director). well, u want to save the rest of ur comic heroes so u make an online-sig wanting to stop them right now cozz they are just ... taking away the respect u had to comics.
