Well ye we have this thing, we're making masks in my grade 8 art class and im making a v mask :D ill bring all my stuff and take pictures of it, and ye ill basically keep track of the whole process every day here. Itll take aprox 3 days.

haha..i remember doing the masks...make sure you don't get plaster on you...
i ruined 3 pairs of pants -.-...it's extremely hard to get out

Yea i graduated college after 2 years doing a 3d-Design course which included pottery etc.. and making Clay masks was one of the Modules. Was alot of fun! and alot of time consuming. We had to sort of do like our own faces but incorporate it with something, i decided to incorporate it with a dragon.
the dragon's face to me was Ace, but my face was a pain in the butt. kind of the dragon's mouth open, teeth and everything, and my face just sitting there in between the top and bottom jaw looking out, one side happy, one ide of the face scared.
It is alot more fun than what people say, despite what they think.

SO far i just put the clay on it for the features that pop out on the mask.
I think it doesnt look that great so far, my next step is gonna be to put the plaster on it.

As in weight...I'm assuming that you still aren't done putting the plaster on, and I know that plaster can get pretty heavy. And it also cracks a lot when it's dry, so make sure you make a good core, and don't hurry the beginning process.
Oh, i havent started the plaster yet.
Depends. If you guys have a Kiln at your place, i'd suggest using Clay. Its fun and has a nicer finish once it's been fired, Also doesnt crack, unless you fucked up on the airing process and it Explodes when it's fired lmao.

Is that a plastic mould kinda you're getting the face shape from? Just Curious, i never thaught of making a mask that way before, i always just went straight into Creating how i thought the shape of a face looked by eye. =] But i suppose with plaster you'd need a base so it's pretty awesome. Keep at it!

Aha thanks. Btw ye its a plastic mould. Hence we put the clay on so the plaster will go on that and the mould is basically just like a guideline.

Camera resetting date every time you turn it on and stuff like that I'm guessing? Mines the same.
And looks pretty cool, I remember when we had to make something like that but we didn't have plastic moulds. Good old fashioned plaster on a balloon, pop the balloon and cut the final shape in half. Good times.
The time and date might not be set on his camera.

We never really did anything too advanced, how ever mine used to look great until I moved it and it all went tits up.

FUCK FUCK FUCK my camera ran outta batteries and i couldnt photograph the mask. I just put the first couple of layers of plaster on the mask. pretty sick.
