aye the more i hear about the heavily populated areas in Scotland the more violent they seem, however my friend lives on the Ilse of Lewis and its passive as fuck, complete contrast
Glasgow is very violent... as i live there, and see alot of stuff. But i dunno if it is more violent than new york.
Higher crime rate doesn't make it more violent. The crimes can be simple burglary or drunk and disorderly.
Try looking at the violent crime statistics and I bet New York is higher than Glasgow.
Population difference between New York City and Glasgow are enormous.

I never expected glasgow to be more violent then new york. Especially with the pop difference.
Are we really stereotyped as that violent? I mean we have minor gangs and drugs, but it's not bad bad. Although, I have been able to fight and hold my own on the streets froma young age, doesn't mean we're all violent idiots.

I think they've calculated it by taking how many people have fallen victim to violent crime per 100,000
Yep, we are, more so likely because of the African-American society and their stereotypes. We have violance, but we have it in specific areas ( ghettos ). I honestly don't believe Glasgow has a higher crime rate being the population difference.Quote:

Aye, the city itself and not the whole state. I'm not proud of Glasgow being such a violent place. You have to remember, New York has a population of 8 million and the whole of Scotland is about 5.5million. There isn't enough Police, which is what our problem is. Another problem is of course, due to all the big heavy industry being closed by the Conservatives in the 70's it's led to a lot of poverty in Glasgow. The Police force that covers the Glasgow area and much of Scotland is Strathclyde Police. They have to cover alot of ground and there just isn't enough Police to focus on Glasgow.
I get your point. Damn proof that everything is going the wrong way =/
