School Blocks.

Alright, Starting Late last year, are computer technician put in Stronger Blocks on our internet. Im not saying its wrong. but heres the thing, When we serch "Ponies" on google. half the pics are blocked. advertisements are blocked. Things that shouldnt be blocked are blocked. alot of proxys are blocked but, i still get around the blocks. heres the thing with him though. every time a kid gets around his blocks, he goes to the district office, and tells them that some kid hacked the server. he purposely deleted a systemOS file in the Shop which we use for looking up All-Data for car/truck Parts. and other things.

I am considering uploading some programs to my 8 gig flashdrive, and just shutting the server down. he doesnt know how to fix anything. it took him 2 months to get him to look at the shop computer. and now we get the blue screen of death, i dunno. everyone hates him. i could easily shut the school server down cause there no firewalls protecting it. Were just fed up with him,

In my school, my account was deleted because i went on an arcade games site. I now cannot do any course work for 3rd year.... And i picked computing.

Just do it. go for it! lol. Then tell us here what happened. We could do with a little entertaining.

My local council gave a strict filter. They blocked RZ :'(

Ouch harsh Laz Low, at my school they got blocks but of course, the technicians actually have a few brains, there are ways to get around alot of things with searching a spose :P

Yeah same with our school like half our assignments the good websites get blocked like in PDHPE, we did an assignment on breast cancer and 2/3 sites were blocked.

Lol, My school didnt block any sites.
Not even adult content ^^

Usually, they don't really block websites themselves, rather keywords.
Example:
Fuck, Porn, Sex, Beastiality, Proxy.
etc.

Lucky for some ^^

I wouldn't attempt to get around it if I was you, there's usually a good reason why schools heavily filter content coming from the interwebz.

MmmhWell, yeh, i remember i were away a weekend once.

I came home and my mom said my her sister and my cousin on 10 had been on a visit, and he had been using my pc.

Once i turned on my pc, there were alot of spyware and those annoying popups all the time with adult content.

I had a long conversation with him the next time i saw him. Learnt him how to hide your tracks after watching adult content :P

I hate the blocked sites. being in elementary after we're done the work they make us go on gay websites and we have nothing to do. I mean ffs they blocked LINE RIDER.

Yeah, when you start blocking serches on Ponies, on google. its time to do something ;l

If you think you guys got it bad...come to Florida... they blocked pretty much everything, the only website i know that we're allowed to go on is funbrain.com and half the pages on wikipedia -_-

Your school runs on a white list. which is very effective, but not good for schools bc of reserching limmits

:P just get a 8 gig flash drive put some hacks on it. and hack your server and whatnot :P

my school nvr blocked nothin either

yar haaa. We had out ways of getting past them.

same was at my school. left ther like 3/4 years ago now but, i went to college and their security was ALOT tighter i had a hard time getting past.

Although someone had a smart idea of bringing in some FPS Game, i think it was return to castle wolfestein maybe, and placed it in the network, he done something to it so that it couldnt be deleted, and was on ALL of the PC's in the whole college. the only way for them to get rid of it was to reset the network and restore every single one of the 1000+ computers lol.

We just sat there, alot of people in college just LAN'ing each other when work just was not an issue hehehe.

If your schools gave you laptops you can get around any filter they have. If that's the case shoot me a pm.

When I was in the AP CS room, they ran Portable TOR, and Portable Firefox off of flash drives, and it seemed to work from what I observed.

Use logmein.

take the url you want to goto and put it in here:
IP Address Locator - Enter an IP address to find its location - Lookup Country Region City etc
copy the ip address returned and make a no-ip.org site here:
No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP

It works for 80% of sites:
WorldofWarcraft.com
The World of Warcraft Armory

it doesn't work on youtube and myspace (i'd assume that that includes a lot of other sites, i think i tried it on rz, but it didnt work letme check again ;))

but for the majority of sites, it should work, depending on how your school's internet blocking system is setup. it works for me at least :)

i found this out b/c the blocker on my school network was stupid enough to tell me that zapto.org sites (which are like no-ip.org sites) can be used as a proxy ^^, they were block for the reason of "being a proxy"

lmao. i have an 8 gig. i put some portable hacks on it few days ago. just gotta get some time to upload in class. To block images? i mean our school, serch ponies and you get like 2 outta the 20 images xD

My school used to be pretty lax about this, and allowed access to most things (within reason), but since they started expanding the IT facilities, and have purchased new software, they've cracked down on almost everything.

The best example I can think of is that the word "fun" is actually blocked, as are all e-mail sites such as gmail, any site with even a hint of a game or video on it, and even sites such as 'the student room' which are reasonably educational forums. Once they even blocked the BBC website before I sent them a scathing e-mail and they eventually unblocked it.

Frankly I think that it's ridiculous, I mean how is checking my e-mail from school going to negatively effect me in ANY way -.-.
