Yeah, I think that is true.
I had buyed GTA and I had cheated.
Now the game is so easy, and it doesn't give me that "yeah I finished the game!"-kick anymore ...
What is your opinion about it?

Depends on the cheat I use for a game.
I like cheats that are just for plain fun. Such as typing something like "**redblood**" in Worms 2 would make the worms bleed when injured. Or a cheat in GTA2 that'd make the citizens of the particular city you're in naked (though being a birds eye view game it was a small difference). Or cheats in football games that change the ball into the referee's head. Or the one in Midtown Madness that'd change all the cars on the road into tiny airplanes.
I try not to use any and find a best way to complete some lvl. When it begins to be boring and too irritating then I'm starting to look for some tips.
It is true that cheating makes games boring as hell...
I quite enjoyed unlimited "time slowing abilities" in bloodrayne 2 :p
ツ I am glad you guys are agreeing with me.
Yeah I would look if I could use some tips instead of cheats. :]

i am strictly against cheating on multiplayer games, however on single players games it's ok after ive finished a game, it can help with replay value
I don't mean multi-player cheating, I mean single-player. :)

Yeah just like the other several people have already said. Its purely pointless. I mean you go spend your money on a game. Maybe a game that would normally take a while to complete as its complexed so needs abit of brain power =p, why whip out a cheat book just to have it completed within a few days.
Although having said that, I do agree cheating it alright once you've finished the game because at least you've done it properly. So using cheats you have helps revive the game a little =p.
I still remember GoldenEye for the Nintendo64. Such a awesome game. I remember with that game if you completed each level in a certain amount of time or in a certain way, then you could actually unlock a cheat. Like Invincibility. So once I completed that game on its hardest setting, i went through every level again unlocking these hidden secrets to use them =p. One of the best games ever tbh ^_^ lol.
Try to get through it and not cheat, fine if you're really stuck I suppose you could let it pass but just cheating all the way through just seems a waste.
It's always best to crack out the cheat book after you've finished.
Cheating in games to get past some really fuckass levels is okay if you ask me. Rather than spending time over 1 level and getting so bored that you just dont wanna know the rest of the story line anymore.
Cheating is Wrong, but Since i still love to say, "Yeah I beat it" Ill Beat the game cheatless, then mess around with the cheats :P
Thats why I love rpgs. you must pay for cheats like a gameshark or what not xD
Then again, having cheats for SP games is great when you've already completed the game several times and just want to fire it up for a quick 30 mins.
Ya, I agree with elmarshal, and insane, like sometimes ill just play with cheats fr fun on a new game, and sometimes i use like a weapon cheat for really hard levels.
I always use cheats in games like age of empires, command and conquer.
Sadly I don't have 4 hours to build an empire, so extra cash and construction time removed help Dios play a game in 1 hour :)
Maybe if I beat the game, then I will use some cheats.
For GTA though it's a bit different. I will use cheats to get certain cars/helicopters.
I remember, I wanted to use cheats, when i played Doom3 for the 1st time, but the game kept owning me, and wasn't opening the console :P i got stuck at portal with 2 Hellknights coming out. It was so irritating that i stopped playing for some time, then tried again from the very beginning and made it (same game, so no console and no cheats).
Moved from Outer World to Gaming Hotspot. I felt it was more suiting there.
I think cheating can be fun but only when you REplay the game over :) If you play a game for the first time you shouldn't cheat :}
It really depends what game it is as people posted above, Grand Theft Auto is a prime example of a game that I enjoy cheating on simply because I get more enjoyment out of the cheats than half the missions, I thoroughly enjoy just flying around in the Hydra and try to see how close I can get through obstacles like tree's, buildings, bridges and so on, sounds boring but once you've finished the game and you have nothing else to do but kill time then your bound to dive into some sort of glitch or cheat and increase enjoyment in some way, shape or form.
What about games like BF2 which it's impossible to finish because you cannot reach any goals, it's either win or lose, unless you play on the internet in which then you gain ranks, but in SP mode you can't unlock anything.
Yeah i would definetly say cheating makes the game boring, but after a while of playing and if you have previously completed it, cheating can spice the game up.
