Privat server installation messed uP???

So first... I used the guide from dopestar to make my privat server
i downloaded a repack and also downloaded the old version of sql programm Then the first problem is that my windows (vista) doesnt support the old sql.. but in the newer version of sql, there is not sql server i can start. Then i tried it on Xp.. everything worked properly untlill i tried to start the server .. I done everything like dopestar said in the tread but then when i try to connect to my server it gets me an error. Also if i try to connect to my server with KOAM then i get the error message: cant connect.... Can anyone help me???
