Age of Conan With Cross-platform Play?

When Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures arrives for the Xbox 360, FunCom may incorporate cross-plaftorm play to give 360 gamers a chance to play on PC servers. As spotted in a report over at IGN "Funcom is trying to implement PC and Xbox 360 cross-platform play for Age of Conan. Most games avoid cross-platform play due to different control schemes (which would give certain players distinct advantages) and the potential chaos that usually ensues between the different hardware and network configurations. According to Jorgen Tharaldsen they are also not ruling out a Playstation 3 version of the game."
That would be awesome indeed. Though you shouldn't go nuts just yet, 'cause implementing this feature is no easy task and God knows many developers have tried to pull this off properly.
