[Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
Hey, since i have a dynamic ip i'm using no-ip and it works fine for everything except locator. :(
If i try to put my no-ip thing in ServerStatus DB or whatever its called client will say cannot access server. But if i put my real ip it works fine.
Everything else like MatchServer, client etc works fine with my no-ip thing.
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
do this.
1- put you true wan ip in matchserver, locator, macthangent, serverkeeper and inside the datebase
2- put ur no-ip in your system.xml which can be founded in system.mrs
and it should work i have test it
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
Err but my wan ip (i suppose my wan ip is the one i see at whatispmyip.com?) is dynamic, means that i gotta change it every time i reconnect. I want to use my no-ip thinghy everwhere so i don't have to change it everytime i restart pc.
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
try this put your ip as 127.0.0.1 in locator
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
err i already putted 127.0.0.1 in locator.ini, the problem is ServerStatus table. If i put my no-ip thing client will say cannot access server. If i put my real wan ip it works but everytime i restart pc i gotta change it
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
hmm...? ServerStatus table...should have the no-ip in it
put the no-ip where ever the ip is
btw if this is for you only all ips should be 127.0.0.1
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
weird... it wont connect with no.ip thing in serverstatus table... but it works fine with my real ip in server status table + no-ip everywhere else
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
dude no-ip wont work with the serverfiles
no-ip only works on the system.xml
no-ip will cover the changing ip
just put your wan ip in the server files and your no-ip in system.xml
it works trust me i have done it before
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
but if i put in my wan ip ill have to change it everytime i change ip dont i >_>

If You Have Highspeed or any internet that connects to your lan card (all except dial-up) here is what you do for a permant static ip:
Control panel > Network Connections > Right Click Local Area Connection
then go to properties then click on the internet protocal (tcp/ip) then properties
change it from obtaining an ip address automatically to use the followin ip address:
IP Address: 192.168.2.23 < this is only for your router
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: <Set This Too Whatever You Want This is the static ip and it becomes an permantant ip
this only works for anyone who uses internet via router, highspeed, dsl and anything that isn't dial-up (i don't know about cable internet but if you have cable internet get something else)

No...your default gateway will usually be a router or a modem.
Re: [Help] Ummm locator + no-ip?
Easy solution. Normally servers stay online and don't reboot. So you should be able to stay having your own ip.
