Hiya folks,

I've been hearing a cry for where the general community can talk about this tournament. So this is what this thread is for, all discussions MUST take part in this thread. Any other threads created outside this one will count as spam and be deleted. Any one/two word structured posts will also be accounted for as spam..and again be deleted. So try too include plenty of detail in your posts.

Everyone is welcome too speak of what they like as long as its Euro 2008 related .But I'll get the ball rolling anyway and ask for you too summerise who you think is the strongest side at this moment of time ?

Netherlands and Spain are my favourites. I'd love to see Spain on the top.

My Poland is not good enough to fight for the greatest prizes. Today they will show if they are worth playing in quarterfinals... i so hope they will win...

Tomorrow we'll see if us Dutch were just lucky against Italy or if it was the real deal. Netherlands vs France, don't miss it!

didn't miss single game yet... not going to miss this one too and i so hope they'll kick the football out of frog eaters heads ^^

You'll forgot Portugal, they have amazing flanks with, Ronaldo, Quaresma and Nani. I hate Simao though. Too bad they lack a striker. My favorite is The Netherlands ofcourse I want to party. Spain is one of my favorites too.

21 minutes in the game between Austria and Poland, and Austria has about 9 shots on target. Both sides are playing their heart out. So far this has to be one of the most entertaining game I have seen in this years EC. As soon as one side misses, the other one is on full counter attack creating equal opportunities.

Poland take the lead.

Germany - Croatia looked like set up game ffs! we're leading with Austria but i doubt we will win with Croatia in next game and Germans looked like they were giving points to their opponents!!! :/

Yeah, one of the main reasons people hate Portugal is due to Cristiano Ronaldo . God, i'm portuguese but i hate him aswell. Show off << But he likes to play with balls, aham, anyways , Portugal team would be much better without him , tbh.
Also, Scolari is a 'traitor' due to the fact he is Brazilian, that's all. I think he's a good coach tbh and now he's going to Chelsea (Hate them . =|) .

Todays a great day for football!

Italy & Romania - Holland & France

Because England isn't in the tournament I'm supporting the other half of my blood line :P. (Italy) But even so, I'm looking forward too the dutch and French game even more. Purely because you just can't help but be interested too see what Holland has too offer as they'll be going in too todays game literally leaking with confidence.

Having said that, Italy suffered a harsh defeat against the dutch so Italy has too win this game not just for the obvious reason, but from a moral stance too. And as for France, they'll not be going any further in this tournament if they play against Holland in the same way as they played against Romania.

I read the Germans here slating none other than, the German team, were you not watching, you can't say they played rubbish the whole way through, they had a promising, exciting start and I strongly expected them to take that through into an early goal to set up an easy match for them, but it seems they just didn't have it today, which is a shame as Germany play nice football when they play to their best, fair play to Croatia though, they stood strong. I'm looking forwards to the France game, I expect them to win it if I'm completely honest, we'll see though.

To WLO, I'd put the bet on Spain over the others, the Netherlands look like they'll do well, but I just don't see them going through all the way.

Personally when it comes too Ronaldo, I think people dislike the guy because he's like a.."model of the footballing world" if you understand ? Like David Beckham but just not as bad.

Another reason (maybe) is proberly because of the way he conducts himself while on the pitch, showing off with all his circus tricks etc. Theres time when even I think its uneeded, but it ain't half entertaining all the same :P.

Anyways big deal if you cry on the pitch. For players the sport is there passion its there life so losing in a major tournament would obviously be an emotional experience.

They got beat in WW2 also, big deal, it's football, they are a good footballing side when they are playing well and there is no denying that, I don't have any stick and nearly every country has called England the biggest fuck ups of football, who cares? It's a game mate, learn to support the game first and appreciate it for the entertainment first and forehand, it's not like the Germans are against the Netherlands either.

Don't you mean "unlucky"? And Scottish football is a shambles, we have teams like St Mirren in the SPL and Gretna went into administration because they went from the bottom division to the SPL.

Oh dear I really dunno what too say though. Romania almost caused a Plague of heart attacks across the Italian nation. AGAIN just like in the dutch game Italy just couldn't find the net, Toni really is the most unluckiest player in this tournament he played amazing but just couldn't captialise.

And especially the goal he scored. Such a bad decision by the lines man, he was clearly on-side. Italy played a classy move and got penalized for it.

Anyways too the guy that mentioned about not taking personal issues in too the games with them. Its been like that for years. Just as CrownC mentioned about the personal issues the Dutch has with the Germans its the same with the English and the French and other countries around the world.

This tournament is really something else...

People, I know you hate C. Ronaldo, he was a show-off and dived a lot at start. He thought he was the best and would be nominated the best player in the world. But he didn't, now he's a better player, he plays for the team and not only for himself.

I'm Portuguese so ofc Portugal is my favourite team to win. They're doing great so far, if Portugal doesn't win I hope Holland does, they're playing even better than Portugal...

Man oh man, what a match that was. The end of the first half was a bit weak, but damn what a beautiful match. The last goal of Sneyder was the icing on the cake, just beautiful. So was Robben's goal.

No one seems to be mentioning Henry's goal, sure France lost, but what a lovely little slide in!

Henry's goal was quite nice, but those of Kuyt, Robben and Sneijder were just perfect.

The icing on the cake ? More like the nails in the coffin. The Dutch have now just put the world on notice, there a force too be reckon with. Even though the Romanians seem too be on form the Dutch will still plow through them.

I believe now the only competition for Holland is Croatia. Having said that though I do look forward too Italy and France going at it, as its literally a fight for survival.

Yes...Henry got a cheeky goal. But he should have done so much better so theres nothing too give him praise for. He's not the player he use too be a few years ago.

And thats what I expect most people to reply with :P. What alot of people don't seem too realise is Croatia is the dark horse team of this tournament :P. And at there best they'll be giving alot of ignorant people a rude awakening lol :P. Its just one of those "things" where you'll just have too wait and see.

Sorry but I do not really fear Croatia without Eduardo. And I do not see Croatia as the dark horse, Polen or Russia is more suited for that position.

Eduardo ain't all that tbh i do rate the manager tho.

The managers gets he blame if the strikers doesn't score though. Eduardo is/was the best striker they have/had. Pranjic, Olic, Srna and Modric are all good players but I do not see em score that often.

Yeh Italy are known for one of the best defenses in the world Thats why when Capello got appointed as England Head well i thought we were going to play defensive but haven't seen it so far so all good :). And France ust to have a rock sollid defence but now they are dragging on a bit.

Yeh Thuram,Gallas and Evra are good although Thuram isn't what he ust to be. France have allways been a midfielding team with the likes of Zidane.Pires,Makelele,Viera.

Greece plays only at defence, the team doesn't provide any fun, I don't like them for that...

Sweden 1-3 Spain (they played very well, unlike Sweden)
