well... I've been getting these calls on my cell phone, they must be spoofing their number, its either 1204 or 1104. I can't call back, get a message saying its an invalid number...
Well... keeps calling, 1204 hangs up. 1104 asks me for my bank account number, saying I've won $5,000
After a few times, I told them not to call back. Finally, I said, "you know what, screw you"
its still happening.
Anyone know / having this happen to them?

I didn't really give it out to random strangers, and on the net... I just gave it to some people that I seemed to like, and they said that it was safe to give it to them.
Yah many companies dont have a service to block income calls or u just need a special childish line. U may find software to block calls if uve got a s60 symbyan or WM phone.Quote:

You shouldn't pick up the calls, they could be long distance and they can reverse the charge.

I never answer phone calls I don't recognize...and I don't miss out on anything. If they keep calling I might answer, considering it might be a friend using someone else's phone or whatever. But if I notice that the phone number isn't from the area...good luck getting me to pick it up.
I honestly don't know why you'd answer it, after receiving it once.
Because maybe some ppl have a habbit of using an " unknown " number. I've got it set to that, so it could be some1 he knows doing the same:P?

Ask for your phone company to block it rather than trace it? Blocking a number shouldn't be particularly hard.

That is pretty weird. I once got a call from the number 888-888 which is obviously invalid and after the number hung up, there was a new voice mail message full of weird static. Pretty creepy. I would say just don't pick up if it is a really weird number or if you know the number to be a stupid ad/scam.

It's a national do not call list. If they were to call after you're on this list, take down all their info, tell them you're on this list. If it where to happen again after you've taken their info, you can sue them.
Ah. Someone from abroad is trying to call you I guess and is not able to get the line.
When I try calling a friend of mine abroad, she just sees random numbers at all times. I think those belong to the bypass lines.
I don't know why anyone abroad wants to call me - its weird, in the morning, I get one call, and then its a hangup. Then in the afternoon, I get another call. Today, he said he was calling from Cambridge, and had asked for me by name.Quote:

I always used to get this phone call about 8:00 PM every night. No one would speak. One day I had it and basically every time they called I'd freak the shit outta them by whispering "I see dead people". Or taking clips from movie (usually have them on my cell) and play it back to them. Last time, I pretended I saw the person on phone. Then, I played the X-files theme song. They/He/She/It never called again after that.
