[PS3]Metal Gear Solid 4

I can't believe there is not a post about mgs4 since its been released, unless im retarded and overlooked it. I've been playing it since i got the game on the 12th, and wow this game is 100% amazing. The new weapon system is pretty cool even though it might seem a little far fetched, but what isnt in games anymore. The cutscenes are good and there is plenty of em also some are very long i feel asleep during two so far and both times when i woke up they were still going. The game also has to re-install after each Act but its ok for how good the game is.

I've been told the stealth is great, and you can hide in cardboard boxes (?). Also, is it true that you can listen to an in-game iPod?

yes to all, you get a new camo suit that adjusts to what you're near (and later on you get a camo mask), you do get cardboard boxes like in the earlier ones but this time you also get a barrel xD. and there is an ingame iPod in which you can collect music for and play.

Oh wow, it does sound really awesome. My friend was gloating that the combat was better than Call of Duty and GTA IV.

i havent really even seen any advertising for it, tbh i wont be playing it seeing as its on the ps3, shame really

really its the only good game ive played on the ps3, and the other games people say are good for ps3 are on 360 too. The combat is pretty cool, cause you have a stres level and psych lvl gauge, so if your getting stomped and your stress is high you're not going to beable to do much, Also location and heat/cold has impacts on your stress so cooling off in the shade helps too.

The stress levels won't be very good if you're getting shot in the head from all directions, will it?

The game is amazing. I've played nearly non stop since Thursday.

Stealth and Combat have both greatly improved and you get to decide how you go about certain situations. The stress levels add another great factor into the game as it adds alot more realism.

It's 10x better than GTA IV.

I would think so that a MGS game is better than GTA.

I would get this game looks pretty nifty but i dont fancy shelling out money for a ps3 game that i probably wont play as im always spending my gaming time on 360.

Btw what i seen of this game so far (not much) it looked as if it was a lot more actiony than stealth, unlike the others, or is it relatively the same?

Not played a single MGS game, so this latest and last installment never caught me interest.

the game can have a lot of action in it ( a lot more than the others) or you can play it as stealthy as the other ones. The end is so epic and pro.

Only MGS I really liked was the first one. And it was for PC. It's a shame they don't make it for PC anymore :'(

I played 2nd and 3rd one at friends place. I really like the story for 3rd one. Good thing they didn't continue from the 2nd ones story. It was horrible.

the only bad thing about it is that new players in the mgs series will have a hard time understanding the story
U will have to watch the cutscene's in order to be able to understand some portion about it
the reason why that might be a bad thing is because it has more then 2 hours cutscenes in it and not all of them r interesting
tho most of them are insane , it looks like a hollywood blockbuster
skipping them is not a option if u want to understand anything about the story : p

Same here, MGS is a good game. but i wont be picking up a PS3 anytime soon. Friends have told me its amazing as well. I couldnt care really. but I wait for Fable 2.;]

Just finished it, and it was truly epic. Started off a little slow, but once you start getting into it it just gets better and better!

Just finished the game on Big Boss Extreme mode at my brother's house. Fucking amazing. Kojima is amazing as far as piecing the storyline together like that.

The multiplayer is so amazing, it isn't even funny...all the different styles of combat just blows you away.

I've been trying to unlock Big Boss mask (any enemy that sees you runs in fear)...but it's proving impossible, as well as the Big Boss' gun... Beat the game without killing an enemy, without alarming the enemies, on Big Boss Extreme.

Getting the banadana and stealth were hard enough tbh...hours of having to restart over and over again cause you accidentally kill someone, or get caught.
