Can I get arrested for using a credit card number that was posted on paypal.com?

I was wondering, if i sign up for this "SmartSave!" website, and it needs a credit card number, i get it from https://www.paypal.com/en_US/vhelp/p...rd_numbers.htm , i use one of them(but please note it says TEST CREDIT CARD NUMBERS!), and it works, can i get arrested for that? on https://www.paypal.com/en_US/vhelp/p...rd_numbers.htm the title says TEST credit card numbers, can i still use it?

see it says TESTING credit card numbers and its on paypal.com, and here is the describtion "While testing, use only the credit card numbers listed here. Other numbers produce an error.

Expiration Date must be a valid date in the future (use the mmyy format)."

Acording to what that says, it basically says that i can use it, right? it says while testing, so means i can test it, and smart save is not an item, it doesn't cost any money, its something that saves ur money and stuff, cost no money
and i needed it because it gives me points on this site, and the points can give me cash in games.

Well it's possible but not very likely. They'll likely just cancel the account on that smartsave website for an invalid card later on if they find out. However, if you have any sort of information linking you to it, it could affect your credit =/

so have you tried purchasing any items yet?

You CAN get arrested, but I don't know... I think that the likelihood that you'll get caught is minimal.

But from experience, they terminate the service. I haven't been contacted by anyone about it...

On Direct2Drive, they remove the games from your account, that I know.

Those numbers are for testing API I would assume. Any transfers made with them are inside Paypal and are likely only virtual =) But! I haven't visited the page so idk =p

If you use somebody else's credit card, and they find out guess what'll happen...

They'll notify the bank, the bank then calls the police with a 3 way phone call with the card holder. From there they'll contact which ever company the card was used at. After searching for that card number, they'll get the IP address that was used to complete the transaction. Linking directly to ..... You.... *tada!!!*

How do I know this? I worked for Wells Fargo for 8 months.

But for all he knew, it was a test card number, and put used it to test before he used his own.

Therefore making it Paypal's own stupid fault.

Lol, it's not that bad. Company's hardly ever call when ppl ccf at their shops (personal experience atleast).

I've been playing around with the paypal api for a while, they are test numbers you use with paypal using "developer" mode.

It's so you can test if your site checkout is working properly.

He cant be prosecuted, if he gets his story straight and say he tested it like they said to, Then it should be fine. Its Paypal's fault nobody else's.
