Depends where you have more of your friends / people you know imo.
I had both, I felt that Xbox360 is more friend oriented, you meet people easier, everyone has a microphone...talk to people easier. Xbox360 (+online gameplay = 50$ for gold card...and if you want wireless net that's another 59$)
Ps3 is just getting all the interface cleaned up, it's already got wireless internet, comes with free online play...however less people use the microphone...so it's a lot more quiet when you game.
I simply got PS3 because I think that it has a better future than the xbox360, and it holds game genres that I prefer (MGS).
So...like I said, Xbox360 has a more user friendly interface, allowing you to contact friends easier, play easier, etc.
All depends on the kind of games you're looking into playing really...

Hmm. Well I know a load of people that go to my school that have an Xbox 360, but I want something different. Plus the fact that MGS is on the PS3 and I've played the previous 3, makes me want one even more. The wireless internet included is also a major plus for me. ^^"

360+gold+wireless costs more then a PS3. PS3 uses bluetooth headsets that's better then the 360's. games costs the same on both consoles and PS3 has downloadable content also. 360 has achievements and gamerpoints PS3 has trophy's and player levels.

Also, the 360 tends to have a lot more big hit games than the PS3, so that would be my choice.

I personally prefer the PS3. The online features Sony has added to Firmware 2.4 brings it up to scratch with the 360, plus, more games are going to be available exclusively to the PS3 soon.

Why go wireless? Wired is better. And what's wrong with the 360 headset, i got 1 and it's more then fine. It's also easy to connect (1 press on the set and it's connected)
The games might cost the same, but the 360 has a way bigger collection, and thus also way and way more discounted games.

Anyway seeing as you name the risk of being 1 of the major issues. The consoles that had these issues don't get sold anymore, all the new ones are good and have shown no more then usual failure rate (there is always a failure rate, but it's small, basicly the same as the PS3's), also if it does fail then you have 3 year warranty on the red lights and here you can get your 360 back in 1-2 weeks (that's with free picking up and all that)

wireless is the way of teh future man. wired only helps on d/l's and crappily made online games. you dun lag in CoD4 till u get to like 5-10% signal. the headset looks like smthn from the 90's. discounted = not selling must cut prices. didnt say it dun have quality games but GoW is the only big hitter.

I was going to buy a PS3 two months ago, but then I realized I'd only be playing MGS4....I might totally sound biased but the ps3 aint got games....so paying 399$ for a console that I probably use for the blu ray player is not a smart choice. All of their games that they have out are either multiplatform or rentals, Yes I've played Drakes, warhawk, lair, heavenly sword all of them which are rentals.

Really, PS3 is no more powerful than Xbox 360. They both have its pros and cons which balance each other out. If you're looking for an arsenal of pretty good games, go with 360. If you're looking for very few but very good games, go with PS3. MGS4 is pretty much the only game I know that is exclusive to PS3 and is very good. Other good games on PS3 are already on 360 too. So, I suggest you to get a 360 again if you want to get your money's worth. PS3 is bit too pricey.

it's basically the same , all multi platform game's r almost identical
it mostly depends on what platform the game was originally designed
if it was originally on xbox360 and then ported to ps3 it will look slightly better on xbox
same counts the other way around
tho i think the ps3 graphics still have allot of potential to increase
for me mgs4 is the best looking console game to date
but trailers from killzone 2 already look allot better then that
and then there is some kind of super secret game sony is working on , some ppl from the bbc saw it and said they were absolutely amazed
will have to wait and see on E3 this year
It starts next monday
but u can bet sony will announce God of war 3

My PS3 Has probably been on for 3 weeks straight and never overheats. :p
BTW. Get CoD4 or Warhawk with the Jabra Bluetooth bundle first. :D if you buy a ps3
