Thats normal, when you select a channel, and then the blue bar comes up, wait for like 5 sec, and if the bar stills fills up. Then press esc, and try again until you can enter the channel. :P
Normally for me i must try 5 times before i can enter the channel. Record 15.

lolz. its normal just start the server again or centOS. when u run centos u dont have to start the server it starts automatically

Yes this is my problem and your problem

first use putty or terminal thing and type this command
service cabal stop
second delete the log files all of them.
third start cabal. cause its more easier to the log files when its fresh.
And check and see if u have configured sql right.
