After hours of fumbling around, help is needed.

I'm trying to set up the chronicle 1 server and I get all the way up to:

"DSN config

Control Pannel - Administrative Tools- ODBC - FILE DSN

Add - SQL server - lin2world - Server(s): (local) - Windows NT identification(W) - Change the Basic Database to following(D): lin2world

Add - SQL server - lin2comm - Server(s): (local) - Windows NT identification(W) - Change the Basic Database to following(D): lin2comm

Add - SQL server - lin2log - Server(s): (local) - Windows NT identification(W) - Change the Basic Database to following(D): lin2log

Add - SQL server - lin2report - Server(s): (local) - Windows NT identification(W) - Change the Basic Database to following(D): lin2report

Add - SQL server - lin2db - Server(s): (local) - Windows NT identification(W) - Change the Basic Database to following(D): lin2db

Add - SQL server - petition - Server(s): (local) - Windows NT identification(W) - Change the Basic Database to following(D): petition"

Now my problem is I go into File DNS, click add, go to the directory and nothing is there! Does anyone have a clue where I may have gone wrong for the file not to be there?

If someone has a suggestion or would even to be willing to direct connect or talk me threw it on my ventrilo server that would be great, because I'm missing something and it's probebly really simple. Fact is I've looked at the instructions over and over again they are starting to make me go a little crazy.

It easy, youre doing it wrong!
This is how it should be done, my english is rusty , so hope you can follow:
Goto file DNS tab, press add and scroll down the list and select Sql Server.
Press next , then you'll see a browse button, well dont press it!!!
Type in the name of the db's you created in enterprise manager, example lin2db or lin2comm ... etc
Dont press browse button type in the name of the db , do this for all 6 or 7 db's ( forgot how many there are )
Anyways i hope this helps , if you dont i can help you on msn ...

after you have done everything right copy the asp files of the l2reg into the "htdocs" folder which is located in the abysswebserver folder .
then edit anything like the Guide says and you are done access your site via

http://127.0.0.1/index.asp

and Tada the site is there


(TESTED AND PROVEN AS WORKING)

when you got ahtml try to crack it because the only version of ahtml you can get is a trial/demo for 50 days or something like that.

Everyone has been a HUDGE help so far, the last problem I have is the following.

Anyone in my local network can connect to my server, but outside the network, nope.
I created a l2.ini with the WAN IP, I opened up the following ports on my router:
2104-2109, 7777, 3999

Anyone suggest what could be wrong?

Moonlightchild that guide u said to create the registration should work but as for other people going to the site... 127.0.0.1/index.asp if they went to that than it would only direct them to their own computer, is there a guide you have for creating a reg page for the public to use?

Fixed it, the people connecting where just being dumb... lol

Anyways, setting up a gm account is all that's left.

#1 is there anyone to, NICELY restart the server without closeing all the programs and rebooting the computer.

#2 I swear they where all there yesterday, but today I go to the dark elf village and there are no NPCs..... anyone got a clue?

Also having some problems. Trying to change class through gm command, but that isn't working either. I'm pretty sure we're using the correct command, but it's just not working. Tried restarting the person's client and the server itself. But he wont change from DE Fighter to Assassin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if the above thing isnt doable try to target yourself and then use this command //setclass 35 but listen!!! you cant jump from class to class like you r a DE fighter and want to become de mystic thats an impossible thing i tried it more then once hope this helps in the attachment is a file with all the class ids if you need them

this isnt that easy because you need to fully shutdown the server edit the db restart comp and then restart the server because you cant reload the dbs in the server windows.
