Whoa interesting, ill try it and see if it work, i hope i don't get that stupid restore database error for MuOnline.bak.
Lets say i don't have a router, what do i need to do?
If you don't have a router you will need to find a guide for non-routers.
most of those guides i get error when restoring Muonline.bak, ranking works fine.
Probably because you have the wrong destination folder, so make sure you double check what folder the MuOnline backup file is in, and point to that folder. You should select "force restore over existing database" also.Depends on what kind of error you are getting though. Maybe you should make a thread and post a screenshot of your error..

Yes you will need to customise these files yourself in the muserver folder and change drops etc. Castle seige not included but patch can be downloaded for this. You can replace Stadium with Arena in map list. As said in guide, this is a simple server for those who wish to experiment...also for people to get used to setting up a router server before downloading more advanced server files and client...this is merely a guide on setting up a router server and you can use different server files and client if you wish should you want a more advanced server.

People,do not complain about maps on move menu not working,edit or even make your own movereq and gate like I do.Soon I make guides for those.

Goto Guides -> Port Forwarding -> find your router -> MuOnline.
As for running the server in 64bit of Windows Vista, I imagine it is no different. If you have problems with running in 64 you can change the colour quality in the control panel.
Also I wouldn't advise using the MuStartup Launcher, as you will get errors unless you know how to set up the MuStartup text file. So run the links 1 - 8.
And if you want to add a subserver, please use the search as their is many guides on how to do this.
Alright... I used this guide on a 32bit Vista machine, but it just doesn't connect to the server, it seems like a client problem... I can't figure it out...
Also the color quality does NOT matter, the 64 bit version of Vista is a whole different animal.. I can't use certain firewalls or antivirus programs because of it, but all my games that were from the 8 and 16bit eras of windows and DOS work just fine though, lol
I keep getting an error on the same line in the CHS msg.wtf file as the english one that says "you are disconnected from server", whenever I start the client, I've tried different clients as well, and all the links are set to the administrative privilege.. I tried using a launcher and not using a launcher, and the ODBCs were a pain in the ass, but only work on the USER level not the system...

Did you follow the guide and look at the screenshot at the SQL part? You are restoring the databases to E:\SQLDB\ ...... I'm pretty sure that ain't where your server files are. It should be C:\MuServer\db
- and you can change this in the 'Options' tab. Please read the guide thoroughly before setting up the server, or you will get errors like this that, in technical terms aren't actually errors.
Dark Lord is bugged full status and make low DMG!

kalbala2, this is a problem with your map files in client side. Look for a Stadium patch that enables you to enter the stadium cages. Use search - I've seen loads of patches for this.
chris12, you will have to add the GM shop yourself, as there is not a default GM shop in these server files. Guide's can be found on forum.
xxysxx, right click the install file and 'Run as Administrator'. If you still get the error, just proceed with the install anyway as it does not have any effect.

I can only backup Ranking_Log.LDF and Ranking_Data.MDF i also check my location and its correct. I wonder why its only one backup MU data basefile that I can only insert at my database.so if I try to "force restore over exixting database" the secondfile.its only overwritten with a new database file.

I have checked all my ip's, I have the loop back working, and have changed the launcher to my ip. the server runs with now errors but when I launch the game I don't see any servers. I'm not sure what to do, can any one please help me out

and i tried what u suggested but there wasnt any "commonserver.cfg" in the chs folder...
only have commonloc.cfg and i have the "commonserver.cfg" in the data folder...
should i copy the commonserver.cfg to the "CHS" folder? or should i rename "commonloc.cfg" to "commonserver.cfg"

No sorry that was my mistake, it is commonloc.cfg not commonserver.cfg, change the IP in commonloc.cfg to your GLOBAL IP.

If its still not working then you have not done something correctly in the guide. Either your IPs are wrong, you have not enabled the ports, your microsoft loopback adapter is not set up correctly or your firewall is blocking the connection. If you downloaded the client I uploaded then you won't have any problems. So it is definitely a server side problem. Double check everything and if it still doesn't work send me your server files and I'll check your IPs are correct. You have definitely missed something in the guide.
i didnt do the "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" cuz i thought it was for people without router...

about the "Microsoft Loopback Adapter", after installing it, you dont need to make ANY changes on your IP in the Network Settings...
the guide tells you to change all other stuff, you DONT NEED TO!
just make sure youve change the ip according to the STATIC IP stuff
after installing Microsoft Loopback Adapter, DONT DO ANYTHING ELSE!
just a quick tip...
cuz it might just mess u up...
didnt try it cuz i didnt understood the guide cuz im using vista and that guide wasnt setup for a vista...

and i tried it to migrate it to MSSQL 2005 and stil i made it work.
though i did sum tweakings heheheh..... and the Me_MuOnline database is missing
incomplete though but it works.
You use Microsoft SQL to set up MuOnline, not MySQL:blushing: plus there is no Me_MuOnline database with version 1.0L.Quote:

I get this error when clicking on the main.exe shortcut, well it's in swedish but it means somthing like:
It wasn't possible to get to the specific driver, search path or file. You may not got the right authorization to get to the object.

Terexes, your destination folder is wrong. Goto Joinserver.exe in your Server Files (it should be in the JoinServer folder) and right click, then copy the destination of the JoinServer.exe into the shortcut link destination.
Plaths2, use search on the forum and you will find lots of guides that tell you how to install the Loopback Adaptor.
sumo1990, technically you can use any operating system, as long as you have sufficient memory. If you are having problems running MU Online on your OS, use search to find a solution as it could be a common problem.
Summonable, you can get MSSQL 2000 from the microsoft website www.microsoft.com, just search MSSQL 2000. You could use MSSQL 2005, but you would have to migrate the databases to the appropriate version, which would be a waste of time when you can use MSSQL 2000.
