Noel Sims, 76, said he and his wife Shirley were refusing to leave their home at Colsterworth, near Grantham.

"It is extremely rare for the agency to evict people from their homes when acquiring land for a road scheme but unfortunately, in this instance, we have no choice."

Hard working people? Being a policeman is such a piss easy job its like if you get a fine and you know you haven't been in the wrong well if you try and fight the situation its obvious the police are going to win.
Ive had enough trouble with the police for very pointless situations and most of the police i know are dodgy ones who just work for the money and is that right? I think not.

Same thing happened to my uncles factory but he got enough compensation to buy a better factory in another town. But this is just ridiculous. Yet the government reserves the right to seize your property whenever they want so it was justified.

Right, because people should put their live on the line for no compensation what so ever.
Also, lol @ all the people who think they got the entire routine of a policeman figured out.

Re: 76 year old man arrested, so his house can be destroyed
The police were told by the goverment to do this, it's not their fault..
So don't go around blaming them..

Re: 76 year old man arrested, so his house can be destroyed
wow man, they should have given him compensation, its crazy what the government will do to get their way.
-
Re: 76 year old man arrested, so his house can be destroyed
How can they do that?
If he bought the house isn't it his land?
-
Re: 76 year old man arrested, so his house can be destroyed

The Government is one of (if not) the greatest powers on the Earth. You'll be sick to your stomach with the activities they get up to away from the Public eye.
