When I am on CentOS Terminal, I type su - root and then it asks me for my password. I try to type it but nothing happens when i press the keys, any ideas?

You do know that nothing should appear in the console when you type a password don't you? What happens if you hit a few keys and press Enter?
'*' symbols not show in linux for security reason. Just type your password and press 'Enter". ;) gl
