[HELP] how to configure connection refuse
before i discussed my problem in setting a cabal server here are the list of what i did
i install:
SQL 2005 EXPRESS EDITION
SQL Server Management Studios
VM Ware Workstation 6
CentOS-4.5-i386-binDVD
WinSCP
i downloaded all this files here @ ragezone.
I restore my databases correctly on my sql 2005 edition
then i install my CentOS on my VM ware on (NAT) connection.
after successfully installing this files the next thing that i want to do is to open WinSCP to install the cabal files but i cant manage to login because of the errors i encountered..
here is my IP on windows:
lan IP: 122.53.105.57
net mask: 255.255.240.0
gateway: 122.53.96.1
im using a modem not a modem/router so i think that its ok not to use hamachi...
my question is; what IP will i put on centos???
because on the process of installing centos i put 122.53.105.57 there..
when i login to winscp i put the same IP and the error pops up: network error: connection refuse
do i have to use bridge connection or nat??
please spare some time to help me on my problem please.. i really want to have a cabal server.. thanks in advanced and more power to us ragezoners..
Re: [HELP] how to configure connection refuse
for the version of your centos, after you config the IP you need
to reboot the CentOS and this is base what i ahve seen on MAhi's video,
for the Centos 5.1 or highier after youconfig into static IP, go to
the Services and mark check with the "Networking" then Press the
button Restart, but not your centos will restart only the services will
restart just click it and w8 a second.
Re: [HELP] how to configure connection refuse
i already have a connection on my centos. i search and find the result here.. http://forum.ragezone.com/f459/creat...8/#post3677178
now i encounter a problem again.. still i cant login to winscp.. i look my centos IP in terminal then i open my winscp and enter the ip there but the error pops up and says; network error: connection time out.. now, what does it mean??
Re: [HELP] how to configure connection refuse

Re: [HELP] how to configure connection refuse
in your services, follow the guide of MAhi you it clearly and on that part
you can pause the video to clarify it ... i only saw that on mahi's video
guide , but i not using Centos version 4. something
i use 5.1 its simple and nice almost like windows OS
there is similarity but, its easy to config

i use different version of centos than mahi's on his guide.. i dont see the ssh amd sftp there.. and ofcourse i try to explore there before i make a post here.. unfortunately i was unlucky to find that"SSH" and "SFTP"...
anyways i hope i can fix this with the help of our fellow ragezoners here.. thanks for the reply buddy
EDITED:
i install new centos version 5.2 just like the guide here.
i follow all the guides step by step and i dont encounter any error on centos.. i can access the net there but i have the same
problem just like before.. i cant manage to login to winscp. it always says that network error: connection timeout
hayss dont know how to fix this.. do i have to configure my lan settings or sql databse etc to solve this problem?? really need help guys
Re: [HELP] how to configure connection refuse
your windows IP and Centos IP are the same. Try to put 122.53.105.58 or 59 in you Centos. Make sure those IP not in use.
Re: [HELP] how to configure connection refuse
mmmm my bad i automatically obtain ip on centos because i am on NAT connection.. My ip on windows are now different than my IP on centos. i see that when i type ifconfig.. but still i cant manage to login to winscp :(
can i add you on your messenger sir?? i have something to ask please

is there anything that i need to configure on my physical windows?? what are the things that i need to be install/configure first before logging in to winscp?? please enlighten me...
Re: [HELP] how to configure connection refuse
do not use NAT connection, disable the 2 VMware connection on your control panel/networking
and for your local connection allow or mark a check with bridge connection...and then
on your centos, just scroll down the services, go on letter "S" on your SS you show
only letter "C"....
like what i said scroll down and you see a lot of services and i think you didn't mark check
with the networking services then "press restart button" so that the IP you've change
will work..., its normal when you finish loading centos and open up and appear the screen
all the function that need to configure...and its normal too that your centos will autmatically
use the gateway of your modem and then you have an internet.... but you need ti be static
LAN IP on your centos, bind the LAN IP what you want your centos will use...and also
bind the subnet 255.255.255.0, and your gateway like 192.168.0.1, then click ok, and after
that click activate button..... then goto the services mark check with the "networking" services
then click "restart button" just follow so that you got the key
don't forget this one

Re: [HELP] how to configure connection refuse
Bridge connection, Will be better if you are using VMware
