Do any of you like to have debates about politics? Things like, should cannabis be legalised, should there be more strict laws on drinking, should all police officers have a gun, gay parents adopting etc. ?
I'd just like to know :p and maybe some of your views

whenever im of legal age im going to start my own political party, then im going to run for governor. then i'll run for president.
my views:
- Cannabis Legalization. I am not for this.
- Marijuana Legalization. Currently, marijuana is sold in an unsafe state. Drug dealers lace the marijuana with different things that arent natural to the drug. I believe that if marijuana is legalized, it will be safer and we will live in a better world. However, there would be a huge tax on this marijuana.
- Cops with guns. I believe that cops should only have a colt, nothing more.
- Weapon Restrictions. Machine guns and submachineguns need to be outlawed once again. You can walk down to your local gun store at the moment and buy an M4A1 carbine. Isn't this country fighting terrorists? You do not need an AK-47 to hunt deer. I would ALSO put a tax on ammunition to discourage murder.
- Gay Marriage. I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. Thats as simple as it is.
- Drinking. If anything, I think the age requirement on drinking needs to stay the same or be raised. Lowering the age requirement would cause teenagers, new to driving, to drink. There would be a higher accident and death rate in the United States if this occured.
- Taxes. There is a certain tax in the United States that takes 10% of income from the poor, and only 5% from the rich. I would make this tax 10% on both sides. This would give the government millions of dollars a year more and help pull us out of national debt.
Also, if I were elected into office, the SECOND I got in, I would repeal the 2% tax cut on the rich. That has cost the government 67.8 BILLION dollars a year. The rich do not need these tax cuts.
- Minimum Wage. I believe minimum wage should remain the same. Raising the minimum wage to 7.50$ an hour would cause the economy to inflate.
- Oil. I support drilling in ANWR.
- Gas Prices. If I were put into office, I would immediately write a bill that limits the maximum gas price. We have this for things like electricity, why not gas? Gas prices cost some people over 300$ a week. Thats THOUSANDS of dollars a year.
- Perscription Drugs. Here is a comparison to a certain prescription drug sold in the United States compared to two other countries. Canada sells this drug for approximately 125$ a bottle. The United Kingdom sells the same drug for approximately 129$ a bottle. The United States, however, sells this drug for approximately 421$ a bottle. That is INSANE. I would instantly pass a bill on a price limit for Rx drugs.
- Health Insurance. Citizens of the United States should be on the same plan as the plans used by Senators and Congressmen.
Now, would I make a good president or not?

That's nice, and people shouldn't be born retarded, or without working legs, yet it happens and we help them to have as a normal life as possible, no change should be made for gay people, fact is that there are people who feel trapped in the wrong body and get surgery to change their sex, and there are people that simply got an attraction to the same sex, now we should also give these people as much of a normal life as possible, marriage is one of them, and they should also be allowed to adopt, test have shown that childeren from a gay marriage don't have a bigger chance to be gay, and they will have a normal life just like kids of 2 parents or 1 parent for that matter, although there are ofcourse a few things they want to know at some age, but they happen now aswell with single parent childeren or adopted childeren.Quote:

Marijuana Legalization - If marijuana is legalized you'd have a lot more addicts (look at tobacco or alcohol) and then a lot more kids smoking oit at younger ages.
Gay Marriage - people were not made to work that way so why encourage it saying it's not only tolerble but ok and should be accpeted by everyone.
Health Insurance - should stay how it is.
i believe weed on its own should be legal

health risks are slim to none

personally i doubt id smoke any if it was legalized but i feel it would be a good descision

personally, i dont c anything wrong with gays but i've alwayz had the opinion that gay marriages shouldn't b legal, just me.
Gays I can tolerate I don't think they should be banned from choosing they way they want to live but I don't think their lifestyle should be encouraged by allowing them to take part in ceremonies that were intended for a man and a woman.
And what will stop people from mixing it? (Marijuana that is)

Considered the downsides of alcohol? 250 000 people in the UK die of it a year and nearly treble that number get liver cancer. People don't choose to be gay, they are born that way, think about it, all your life (if you are straight anyway) you were attracted to girls/women, why exactly? And why are girls attracted to guys? It doesn't really make sense, yet for some reason we still are, why? Because it's in our nature, now with my examples before nature isn't perfect, errors are made, things go wrong, you know no one is perfect, question is ofcourse what is perfect, it's something we don't really know, still what we know is that if everything goes right then you are straight.
Now it doesn't go always right, so someone is born gay or bisexual, they are attracted to the same sex or both sex's, now we can tell them go and act like a straight person, but would that make someone happy? You know my father has a friend and we are 100% sure he is gay, this guy is about 60 now, he has lived his whole life alone, why? Because when he was raised being gay was simply not accepted, and even though times change now, a part of him still lives in that time, and he will die without ever having a relationship, now that's sad.
When someone is born retarded, or can't walk or anything, then we try anything to help them, they get care, if they can do certain jobs then we adapt things to make it for them to be able to work etc, but when they are gay for some reason people still try to make it for them real hard, you know they can't help it that they are gay, and so what if they are, do they hurt you, do they hurt anyone close to you? Gay people simply get in a relationship with another gay person, or a bisexual person ofcourse, and they have a normal life, just like everyone else, sure they are of the same sex, and that's not how it's supposed to be, but many things aren't, but what is supposed to be is that we have a happy life, and if they are happy that way then who are we to tell it's wrong?
Now marriages were there to connect 2 people, it was never about connection 2 straight people, they always said to connect 1 person to another, and that's how it should be.
Just ask yourself this, is it fair that 1 person can't marry a other person just because they are off the same sex, is that really fair that you deny that to someone just because they are born that way even though they don't hurt anyone with it, and it makes them more happy?
Btw for the people who think you can become gay and that your not born with it, it's not a fact yet that you are born with it, but they done alot of checking with many thousands of people all over the years gay, bisexual and straight, and they can find no connection to why one is gay and the other is straight, and they checked for everything, parents, the role of their parents, their friends, brothers, sisters, other family, where they grew up, how they grew etc etc, they can't find anything.

about the drinking age, yeah sure there will be more deaths if it was lowered here. but the driving age is way to young anyways. most 16 year olds are immature and irresponsiable and should never touch a car. but why do i want the drinking age lowered? simply because at 17 you can go off and fight a fucking war but... but... you can have a drink with ur buddies, for crying out loud! kids go off over seas, risking thier lives and yet they arn't responsible enough to drink?

Definition of marriage shouldn't change to include homosexual individuals. However, a new form Social Unions or something, should be allowed to placate them. I say this on religious bounds, but also feel that no malice should be shown towards these people, a new system is needed to allow them to live.

Drinking age should likely be lowered, if for nothing else it would, with time, curve the excess.
Abortion, always wrong, no reason for it. I was adopted, so don't kill the kids.
Euthanasia needs to be outlawed, instead proper pain management needs to be put in place. Heck a thousand issues out there that need addressing that I doubt will be touched upon during the second term. I'm used to the slowness now.
To any who don't know about it, I might recommend www.nationstates.net as an interesting way to release you're political tensions in a somewhat moderated way. Although most thigns on there tend to lean liberal, it is still a very good site for bringing about discussion.
