America is going down

As I suspected this morning, the American economic system has collapsed.

This is most unfortunate.

Has anyone been particularly oppressed by this recent turn of fate? I myself have been forced to remove the majority of my modest investments as insurance, alas, the banks are no longer safe either.

I should greatly enjoy discussion of such things (especially if anyone should find that MIT's Prof. Chomsky has issued discourse on the matter).

Personally, I believe the opinions of Senator McCain are accurate in this case. America was not truly a superpower until it rose from the ashes of the depression, perhaps another crash and depression would lead the world to see various errors in policy (in addition to allowing a renewed focus into improving infrastructure and outmoded systems)

Its exactly this. When people remove their money, thats what causes this problem. The best suggestion that economists can give right now is to leave your money in the banks.

Banks got their money from us so if we take it off the banks they dont have any money anymore

That can be a problem in itself because if people leave their money in the bank and it does collapse, only so much of it is guaranteed (not sure if the US does that but it happens in the UK,

As you said, its not really a problem until people take their money out of the banks. We should read American history and see that the great depression started because people didn't trust the banks and everyone withdrew their money.

Exactly. Its the repositioning of money which causes the shortage of revenue in the market which in turn is responsible for the depressions.

Also those fags on wall street selling all of their stocks at once.

As i heard on the radio yesterday - We can battle through this and turn out victorious, but if we keep listening to all the media hype we will talk ourselves into a recession. Listening to everything that is going on and overreacting by doing things such as removing our money from the banks is what will cause a recession. Banks and corporations are not to blame; we are.

It's not just the United States, its the entire world falling down. People only tend to showcase the wrongs of the USA without telling the full truth, the worlds economy is in danger.

i can assure you this, banks are not your friends. 3 main predators after your money are, government, banks, and businesses. the only way to ensure a stable economy again is to use money to entice ppl into investing again. ATM, sepculation is to blame, ppl speculated that the market was going to crash, and guess what? speculators won. It's the same with everything, if someone spreads fear and panic, things will fall, its all part of the illusion that money, the government, have power of the people and are actually real. By the means of real, its a held illusion, paper money has no value unless ppl say it does, and the same with the government, its not alive, its not anything unless ppl say it is. Pll are easily controled by fear, and if america was so great think about this simple truth.

In an educated society with a well-run government, arent prices suppose to go down, be stable, everyone in fine health? Not in america, as the gap between rich and poor gets bigger, we will see another communist nation arise. The problem is schools, inlcluding business schools train employees who are awesome bean counters. Bean counters only think about cutting costs and raising prices, which in return is bad for all of us. Think of it like this, we strive for the good of everyone every election, every day, but do we stop to think what is good for ourselves? People are telling us what is good for everyone, but is it really good for everyone? There are multiple answers to these questions, and over the next few months we should see the true colors of society as the blind folds are taken off our eyes.

I can clearly say wall street does not have faith in barrack's abilities for the economy. Too many times have we seen sepculation ruin our lives, well its only going to get worst. What should we do? speculate, help people regain faith and invest in our economy, since soo many speculators are going over seas to asia, sadie arabia, europe. but even so, the world's, economy is in crisis. too many ppl think money is real, when it isnt, its a illusion held together by millions of people, and millions more are slaves to it. Just getting up, going to work, paying taxes, and coming home isnt enough. Its fear that now drives people, and those who can manipulate the fear of the masses, can have control over the illusion, and gain power of the people.
