[Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
Hello, I know this has been released before, but There might be just something I could add, I made my pc like when I start up my pc it automaticly turn on:
- Hamachi (my server requires Hamachi)
But since my server starts up a lot faster than that my wamp is done with loading I searched for a solution:
The delay for a batch file!
Here is the script:
PHP Code:
@echo off
title OdinMS: inactive
color 1c
color 4c
title Waiting on the delay
dir c:\ /s > nul
title OdinMS: activating 0/3
start /b launch_world.bat
title OdinMS: activating 1/3
ping localhost -w 10000 >nul
start /b launch_login.bat >nul
title OdinMS: activating 2/3
ping localhost -w 10000 >nul
start /b launch_channel.bat >nul
title OdinMS: activating 3/3
ping localhost -w 10000 >nul
color 2a
title TrueStory is online!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to instal?
- Save as Launcher.bat or anything els that ends in .bat
- Place this file into your repack map where you login world and channel.bat files are.
- Double click the file and wait for your server to start (with delay)
99% Credits to AgentSmith (I though) Who made this.
1% Credit to me for the delay (please dont flame?:*:)
Added how to start al programs when starting up the pc:
you go to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Menu Start\Programs\start-up (I'm not 100% sure these are the names for it because my pc is dutch), but anyway it should be something like this. Now you see some diffrent things already , if not so, paste in your wamp icon, Hamachi icon and the bat file and restart your pc to test it out.
If you want a longer delay then search for "dir c:\ /s > nul" and add more of them.

Re: [Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
If this is a guide, shouldn't it be in the tutorial section?

Re: [Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
Can you all shut up about "wrong section" it was said 3times, and does not to be repeated again. He released the part of where you put it in a .bat file didn't he? So its just a release with a guide in it(Which every release should have.)

Re: [Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
Good job faithless. So you added a delay for starting up the server for the wamp server, correct? But don't you have to manually start wamp server? :\

Re: [Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
Lol, this is just plain obvious and i think people know how to do this. In addition, there is a reason most releases are the way they are, no point changing the delay xD its a tutorial btw. Nice work though...

No problems... What rank is your server on?
-
Re: [Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
xtreme it was 46 for 2 weeks , but since people didn't vote anymore it's now... 66 but it's not 24/7 (maybe be 24/7 for some days soon cuz I'm doing something for my dad and the reward will be some days 24/7 :P)

Re: [Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
Anyway, now people know how to let the server start up when windows start up (if they didn't already knew).

Re: [Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
to add at starup.. is easier IMO using regedit.
only search in regedit,HK_C_User>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrenctVersion>Run..
rigth click.. New String/Alphanumeric key (or something like that) and add w.e name you wants.
right click it and press modific/edit and put there the path and done.

Not everybody knows that O.o

Re: [Guide] Putting a little delay into your .bat files and stuff.
you can use "your uninstaller" (that's the name of the program) and add the wamp server and bat file in the startup section =P then you got it when windows start up
