[Dev/Release] MapleSEA Source [BUGGY]+ LOCALHOST credits-lailainoob

Hehe i got bored :] also this would be i think my last thread/post here and im done with private servers. GMS FTW :D and school hehe :] concentrating on things with more java and c++ and some c# to make things for the computer club (both mac and windows)

This is for v.64 ad it is buggy and you can't exactly login but it is for people who wana develop for it.

Localhost (somewhat unpacked-GGless, and some other crap) Need a bat method:

1. Download it from here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/fm3f2myjjzu/MapleSEA v.64 GGless IP check Removed.rar
2. Open a new notepad file and put this in it :

start MapleSEA v.64 GGless IP check Removed.exe 127.0.0.1

Change the 127.0.0.1 to whatever ip your hosting your server with.
3. Save it as v.64SeaStart.batch
4. Run your server (assuming it has not been started)
5. Launch the file (step 3)

And i forgot where i saw the xmls (if i saw any :]) so good luck<3 they use v.55 encryption so just go unpack on ur own with a python script or sumtin :drool:

Since this project is based on odinms, anyone is aloud to distribute the source (Everyone has access to the svn too).
Spreading the client around is copyright infringement and that's already illegal so any point about that is null.

If the developer really wants it to be private, he shouldn't even upload it to a SVN server.

Then the rights and decisions of the source creators come in... If you were developing something with a small team of CAPABLE members, would you want someone to just post the source publicly so that a ton of people can bitch about the fact that it's not working properly?

I believe even though it's licensed under the AGPL, people should have respect for the creator.

Sparks didn't even create it. OdinMS created the source, FlowsionMS continued it. Sparks took the FlowsionMS Source and added 1 or 2 small things to it. Big deal.

It means that sparks and co can get their asses sued by odin ms staff or anyone else that complains. Not to be rude Mr.Evill33t sir but I don't think you've come to the MapleStory section of RageZone much. Flaming is probably in every 1 out of 3 or 4 posts and some people...(not mentioning names) have posts full of flame whenever a release is made. That is why most of the developers have left RaGEZONE and also why I don't think its fair for you to give out infractions to everyone who flames in this thread without checking other threads. My assumption is that your in this thread because it mentions Valhalla but that shouldn't mean it has to be the cleanest thread.

i am supervising all developing sections so no,i am not so often here, but when i am here i enforce the rules, and i gonna stay here for a while and enforce em strictly! i am here cause i got reports from this thread and saw that its basicly odinsnow v2

How can a person like you have that rank? A supervisor should NEVER base anything off of rumors.

Aleks has done nothing wrong. You can use whatever you want from Valhalla. He simply provided the sections. The underground section was for PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T WANT THEIR STUFF PUBLICLY RELEASED. That's all. You don't have to start accusing him of everything. This is one of the main reasons RaGEZONE has been tagged with the name FLaMEZONE.. Even the higher powers flame without knowing the whole story.

Then when/she released it, it was given to many users [and me] and by the license anything that is given to us from anything or anyone, we ARE allowed to release it as long as it is under the license. Since lailainoob only modified the source to work with msea it does not make him/her the owner which means she/he can NOT change the license since he/she was not the person who licensed it and was not the original maker. Vanas disclaimer is mostly for there forum but they are not allowed to change the license even if the titan source is 99.99% different from theres. But [I don't exactly know] if Titans source was not licensed it gives anyone who would fork the source to put an official license on it (in this case vana could change/add the license from agpl to gpl or w/e )

Oh really? And their "stuff" that they didn't want publically released but sadly all the "stuff" is under apgl licensing, which sadly means that it is available to anyone who request for it. If the person refuses to give it, then his ass can be sued. Their is no whole story, sparks apprently didn't want bs from the other moderators and created his own network which is like ragezone to get some power on the internet.

That's what you clearly stated, Um, I've not once asked for donations, nor spammed my forum with ad's NOR asked for donations, I've if anything declined roughly 70 people asking to Donate.

You guys say I'm breaking the GNU? Sadly, if you knew anything about anything, you'd know that I'm in fact NOT breaking the GNU, because the GNU states that the development source is to be public. And that's what it is, PUBLIC, you haven't seen us lock out our SVN right? You haven't seen us completely restrict others from seeing the source or downloading it right?

We asked 1 simple favor and that was to PLEASE if possible keep what you see on Valhalla, we did that so people like you wouldn't make a big fuss over Valhalla and cause us a DMCA like the one that's been issued to us already.

You all keep calling me names, and that's absolutely fine, I don't brag, I did what I had to do and felt was right, and in some eyes it was the right thing, in others it wasn't. And it'll always be like that.

So say what you want, cause I won't fight with kids, I've been quiet all this time, yet you guys continue to provoke the Valhalla community, once a "Valhallian" Always a "Valhallian".

The GNU license does say that any modifications shall be released to the public, but Valhalla forums were fully public, anybody can sign up and view any releases that were on the MapleStory section. It does not say anything about it having to be REPOSTED on every single forum, without the permission of the user who has made the modifications. If other users that are not informed about Valhalla development forums, instead of LEAKING somebody can just link to the post on Valhalla forums.

Which is why we never bitched when people did it. They had all the right to do it. You're all assuming Valhalla is some sort of top secret closed open source project. It's NOT. You can do whatever the fuck you want with the releases... We just kindly asked for credits to Valhalla if you feel the urge to do it..

I'm not assuming that Valhalla is some super top secret project.
And I'm pretty sure it was LaiLaiNoob that created the modifications, not Valhalla and Frozurad provided the credits.
Remember, this isn't the valhalla source we're talking about, it's the maplesea source.

I know i don't why else am i studying? Also if you want to learn good english i suggest you study hard like me and then you would understand my post when i said for people to get it and work there asses off. Remember how pawip or some other Vana admin said that if anyone else feels like releasing their SVN password, he will start changing it once a week? We just dont want our releases spammed all over RZ, if you want to see our official releases it's as easy as typing in the fucking SVN adress.

Don't even compare yourself to Vana. Vana is in a league of it's own, you're nothing like Vana. Valhalla hasn't even developed anything for Maplestory aside from a few shitty addons like chalkboards (wow amazing).

Uh, no. Vana started off and erupted, they rewrote everything, added new things and had the potential because they know how to code. Valhalla does not have this potential because the developers are not good coders, they are amateurs attempting to be professionals at best.
