HellGate: London (Well, no surprise there... what, with it's shoddy release that really tarnished Flag Ship Studios), and Tabula Rasa (Thought that was doing well, was surprised to read up of it's closure to be on Feb 2009).
Seems like we're stuck with 'Hack n Slash' Medieval / Fantasy MMOs still. =|
Argh, we need a new genre and fast ! This is getting stupid, there is alot of money in them at the moment though :)

WIth MMO's there are a lot more "only the best actually earns some" than other games. People can buy 20 shooting games every year, but very few are going to play more than one MMO. MMO's are very time consuming too. I think it's time for WoW to be replaced, but no MMO has been able to reach up to its quality (although I personally think AoC is a lot more fun than WoW). And when a game like that comes, it will require massive advertising.
Both games sucked and had very few players. Both where also "experiments" with the genre mmorpg. Both failed. the MMORPG genre is getting very hard as dev's have to try and make mmorpg's new and fresh while still keeping a mmorpg a mmorpg.

I never played hellgate: London, But I played tabula, I thought it was rubbish right from the start, They are right to close it down, After all as was said they was experiments
After me buying the collector's edition... bah !
Wtf I thought Tabula Rasa looked decent, what from its hype surrounding it, screemshots/videos etc.
Hellgate, well I remember reading about how much the launch sucked tits...
