Wow Private servers are shutting down o.O

Dont know where to put this ,Move it somewhere if you can

Yea ... you've heard it , you won't be able to play on private servers anymore because Blizzard is taking care about this , they are shutting down all private servers , and they start with the bigger ones first (WoWScape aka Scapegaming / Toxic-WoW / ChaosCrusade etc).

I love private servers but they are crap every few months roll back or restart the database or some crap like that, no professional and technical support almost all of them hosted in a home PC with a DSL o cable conec, they are pure heart made with love but are ilegal because they use copyrighted client and patches from Blizzard, wow like Lineage2 and others online games are made for play online in official servers and pay for it, is a millionaire business, and they are right closing pirate servers, do you have a idea how many lines have to be type for make one large game like wow? and how many people and how many investment on the background? millions in production and is not really funny some guys steal potential customers.
Another ilegal action is donations, to many large pirate servers they collect thousands of dollars a month just in donationes that mean alot of looses and steal copyrights form some one else, have sence if the owner brake down pirate servers, and I dont know about WOW but I know about Lineage2 too many pirates servers closed in USA for the FBI, is not funny, is very serious shit.
So dont ruin you life for nothing.

Oh, well, i didnt't expected blizz will do it. But this isn't a bad news for private servers players or admins, no. It's bad news for retail players. Why? Private servers will move to russia, or somewhere where DCMA won't touch them. And most, not all ofcourse, will survive, this way or another. But why the heck it's bad news for blizz players? Coz Blizzard seems to be more and more money hungry after merging with activision. And guess, just try, who will be next easy target to cast Drain Cash (Rank 666) on?

meh i dont for see all 100+ servers shutting down 1 that would cost bliz severl mills (just a random number it prolly cost even more then that >.>) to do so and as someone else said the servers will just move to another country to where bliz cant do jack about it. just how smart you are and how fast you can outwit them.

also they did this once before back when servers first started to come out they tryed to fight pservers they failed badly. also framw hat i have read and understand also back the first time they did this. They only go for the bigger servers and most populer ones. So keep your server a mid rate and dont try to become the best known server around and you should be fine lol.

Well, it just had to happen - sooner or later. Well, i don't care cuz' i got original WoW acc and i have stopped playing private servers. Actually i was suprised when i saw this because so far Blizzard didn't payed any got damn attention to private servers. I guess something / someone just ... "pushed" it :D

i was a long time member of chaoscrusade and this sucks

Seems that Wowstatus.net is down too.
As I know wowstatus was hosted in germany, but perhaps this is a wrong information... So DMCA has no probs with hosted stuff in germany too?
