RageZone's Popups can go to hell

Thank you RageZone for the wonderful Trojan.Zlob.G that I got from your UNMODERATED popups because was browsing through.

Now this piece of shit attached itself to my system and getting rid of it is gonna be a pain in the ass (although it's easy for me because of my high level of expertise with the comp systems)

This is not the first time it has happened either.

I love you too.

Now to remove this fucking thing...

Y'all are now in debt to me.

How it happened: I went to ragezone, and i found 2 popups (was a guest). As I closed one, i saw a blank popup. This popup unfortunately, did not go away. I couldn't even switch to it. What happened next? My comp restarted, and I found incredible slow downs and other garbage happening.

All my Anti-Spyware and Anti-Virus and Firewall software could not catch it.

I've KasperSky and those popups appears but only showing a black page, the Ad block is VERY effective.

how else can rz stay alive without the annoying popups, unless they get more money from tfn or the people buying ads in the ad sections. :P

I never, and I mean never, get popups from RaGEZONE, so I doubt it's the site. Maybe it's all that shit you have on your desktop.

Hasn't this been discussed before and btw ragezone only gives tracking cookies not trojans

You can't MODERATE popups; they earn RaGEZONE funding, and if you don't like it, then you know where the logout link is. I think when Windows Firewall offered you protection, you should've said YES, then maybe, the virus would have been deleted. RaGEZONE does not control what content is held in those popups, so don't complain to us.

Trojan.Zlob.G is an old modification of Zlob trojan (Symantec described this threat 3 years ago). But today russian scammers use "Trojan.Zlob.G" name to scare users and force to download and than purchase Perfect Defender 2009 rogue anti-spyware. Special trojan (usually Vundo) displays fake "Security center alert" stating that your PC is seriously infected with Trojan.Zlob.G infection.

You're also ignorant. ESET is one of the top Industry's leading anti-virus systems. It's extremely efficient, and it's extremely costly. I got it from a buddy that works with RoadRunner though.

The trojan can effectivly be removed by using MalwareBytes' - since you've got the trojan by Adware. Once MalwareBytes removes it, it's removed, and you can get rid of MalwareBytes or you can keep it. It doesn't do all this frenzy ballshit like most virus protections give you.

Ragezone isn't responsible for pop-ups run by AdSense (or whoever RZ uses for ads), only responsible for ads run by the forum itself. It's not our problem you have a virus, it's your own problem. Learn to get some proper protection for your computer.

1. Your own fault for having bad protection software.
2. Ragezone has no control over the content of the ads, go complain to the ad company (google adsense I think?) since they are the ones that provide the ads and their content.

Yo do realise that that is a popup it self i had it once rofl it isnt even a virus.

I just use firefox, and I haven't once received a popup from ragezone...if I use internet explorer, which I don't normally use, I do get pop ups.
Don't blame ragezone, blame yourself for not using firefox :D
And calm down a tad, you're not doing yourself or your computer any good by posting shite and insulting others on here.

Evlesoa thank you for your concern. I have never once picked up a virus from the popups here on ragezone, logged in/out or using IE/FF(2.5/3).

If you are having problems i suggest you use firefox, keep yourself logged in and use some form of automatic ad blocker which can be found as a free addon on the interweb. Start at www.google.com if you are unsure where to look.

Here at Ragezone we have the largest selection of mmorpg server files and the largest archive of server development guides and various media. While the files etc are not hosted on our server the cost of running the forum itself is pretty massive. Some say as large as my balls. Pretty large I know. Unfortunately as money still does not grow on trees the ads are a necessity to keep this massive resource running and available free to all.

Once again thanks for your concern, I think the moderators should all take a pay cut and that money be used to keep the forum running.
