Video Games and Violence - Questionnaire

I’m currently at Leeds Metropolitan, studying Design. For my dissertation I am researching to see if explicit games can lead to violent behaviour, and the impact they may or may not have on under aged children.


Please answer as many questions as you see fit, with as little or as many words as you would like. Thanks very much for your time. Feel free to add anything that you think might benefit my research. Manhunt

Graphic brutality, realism

C) What certificate was this game, and do you think it was suitable?

Mature. It should have been AO (adults only). It made me ill

4. Do you enjoy violent video games, and do you consider blood and gore a crucial element?

Most of the time but that was ridiculous. The longe you stalk the person the more gruesome the kill would be.

5. Have you ever been in, or heard of any situations, either personally or on the news which may have been motivated by violent games?

Whenever school shootings occur they try to blame Video-Games but I can't say whether or not that's accurate.

6. Do you find playing violent games can alter your mood, make you angrier, more relaxed?

Yeah, it makes me violent. Like I could go shoot someone in the face right now.

7. Finally, have you ever become so immersed in a game that you start to relate things in the game to real life?

Nope.

- Doom 95 when I was like 9 years old.

- Gore and sudden strikes and the realism for back then I guess.

C) What certificate was this game, and do you think it was suitable?
- It was Teen Rated.. Yep. Did good.

4. Do you enjoy violent video games, and do you consider blood and gore a crucial element?
- I do enjoy them but I dont think blood and gore need to be there in all of them.

5. Have you ever been in, or heard of any situations, either personally or on the news which may have been motivated by violent games?
- Yes I did on the television. None in personal life though.

- None. They just kill my time.

- LOL Yes. DotA but just for the sake of humor.

multiplayer option, return to castle wolfenstein didnt had it.

Adults, Some kids around.

Not needed, but makes the game better.

I don't consider Blood and gore a crucial element sometimes it's funny but i don't think it is needed i just like the simmulation of Flight or FIght.

Yeah i saw on the news that people were murdered over halo 3

It lets me Let loose and take out my anger or stress while blowin sh*t up

Hahah yeah but only for makin jokes with friends, like Red vs Blue Bloods and Crips :D
