Server Requirements:
Classic ASP (e.g aHTML/activeHTML)
Abyss Web Server (I use it)
ODBC Connector
MySQL database

How to install Classic ASP for Abyss Web Server?

Upload the files, edit config.asp for MySQL information (and ODBC version) and import the .sql file in aq_db.sql.zip.

Any bugs, questions, etc post here.

Everything is not yet ready, but the most of it is.
It's an emulator, if you can call it like that, there is no way to get official files.

Unless you give more information about the error (You can log packets being sent and recieved with WPE PRO or other packet loggers.) only thing I can think of is that you don't have ODBC connector, or if you do maybe you haven't set the version in the config file.

nearly impossible only if you can fully receive xml data... else things like shops and battle won't work.

Yeah guys, this is the full source code for an AQ private server. This is the basis for the AQ private server 'WinQuest', the second complete AQ server.

If you guys can actually find a host which supports this, then that's pretty amazing. We spent months looking for a free one supporting all this and didn't find jack.

The problem with PHP is that there isn't an equilivant of load.XML(REQUEST) in PHP =/

Make sure you edited this to the version of the ODBC connector you have.

If you don't have ODBC connector then you need to download one:

There are a few hosts that accept asp but not that many

I installed the Classic ASP as indicated by that guide, and MF / IE still can't open the files.

I did it 2 times, but it ain't working.

Are you sure we only need those things you mentioned?

Hello, my problem is I can't install MySQL cuz when the Instance Config Wizard is running and then click execute, It always stop at Start Service.

My question is, can I use mysql host in the net? if yes, kindly give me some.

ive set up everything, checked everthing, doesnt work.

im not gne set it up on my own pc, but if u guys know a hosting tht meets the requirment, got all the neccesary apps; tell me ill help out and pay if not too expensive... add me to msn if needed

I set it up on my computer using Abyss but i just used db4free.net for my mysql then intalled MySQL OBDC Driver 5.1

Ow... I knew that. Just go to aq_db and search this word "aq_monster" then find the monster exp and gold an edit it!

there's a major bug, afetr u logout, ur char becomes lvl 0 again O_O the exp says 500 for example, but after killin a monster u only lvl ocne anyway... are u planning to continue this project?

This project has already been continued. Whether it is released or not is a different question. The new version is in PHP and works fine thus far. It has more features than the current ASP released version.

As for the level 0 bug, the experience needed for a level up formula might be wrong.

How do you add different things to this server?

His version is basically a rip of the AQ pages, so It's more like setting up a fake AQ site, not a private server.

Wildjjbug's release is like KareemTayaziz stated "rip of the AQ pages" there is no database connection, you can't battle, you can't use shops, items, etc. So how is his more complete?

you can manually create accounts and after like an hour of work you can battle

I would like to see that.

And if you think that his files are more complete just because he has some html files where there are "Play game" and "Create an Account" buttons on the index page but you really can't do ANYTHING in-game then congratulations...

I know that part is fake.... you have to manually make an account in a db. I actualy think that if you take your released files and put them with some of what wildbugg has there nice.

Nice. Checked this game official sever about half an hour but didn't find any way to chat with anyone. This is locked by level or i need to get to some area? Because without it this game is only simple flash game that stored onserver.

glad to see some people getting aq servers going.

ive been working on the database, since the releases database is empty, ive tried to replicate the original AQ items and such, heres a preview, im working on getting all the weaps, and armors in atm and put them into shops.

It isnt wamp friendly, i use wamp to host my mysql through navicat, and i use abyss to host the site, but i also configured my abyss to work with php so yeah, ive been doing a lot of work on this game, i have the charview up and running, filters out staff members, also have spells, and shields in the database, i can get them into shops but not appear in battle, just a matter of time though, also i have downloaded a bunch of new armors, weapons, pets, so on, from the official AQ site, and i coded an Weapon list, and Armor list, that can be filtered by element type.

Ive noticed a very significant bug in battle system, where it will freeze on loading the background or monster, its rather frustrating, but im sure ill figure it out soon.
