Need a little help

Sorry to post this...been researching and reading all the guides while setting up the server...I did a make over of all steps at least 5 times already and finally reach this point....this will be my 3rd day lolz.

By following the pdf compiling the mssql databases, I think I set up everything alright.
Centros is running well and no problem as well..all status running..

However, I can't login my server at all...all it did is having the blue bar....then, "connection failed..try again later"..

I've clearly differentiated the gameserver ip and mssql ip.. thus I dun think I got any problem with them..
I checked the traffic monitor from SQL...the status from DBagent = waiting/sleeping during connection.

Other info
Aiming to run the server for LAN connection
Comp i.p 192.168.1.73
Centros i.p 192.168.1.74
Linked server's Localhost input = msql (my comp's i.p) = 192.168.1.73

Any idea what I am missing? please advice..Thanks.

I got my doubts on my SQL settings...

in the backup section of the pdf...

Instead of using server objects - backup components...

I backup the Db in the the database and restored using the same db + setting suggested

New edit: When I use chumpy's GMtool 0.61..the log gives this..

That makes me think that the db itself is missing. If you check it in management studio can you see tables in there?

Luckily i know what this one is. I think you are (or have been) using my v2 server files and you /root/ folder on centos contains an "ep2" folder where you have found a copy of the server files and are running them from there. Everything in the /root/ folder is just for the installer and the files you want are in either /etc/cabal/ (configs) and /home/cabal/ (config scripts etc).

Sorry, just got back from uni classes...

Hmmm.....by extending the account ..i get them in this order

Account - Table - system table - branches:

Not much content within the branches though...I pretty much have no clue on how to manually add the values...unless I really have to...mind provide me with some then n I will input them one by one...-.- ..lolz. I'm thinking of using SQLyog but I dun hav the proper sql files either, which is pretty sad.

Hmm..ok...think I will just reinstall a fresh copy of Centos 4.7 again....but I have a question...is Centos 4.7 already by itself contain the v2.5 server files? What I did previously was that I just put them into the same folder...had them command typed and all is done..or do I really have to use "winscp" to copy them files (repack 2.5) into the /root as one of the guide did with the rest of the procedures...

Am I right to understand that the ep2 in v.25 folder should be deleted before patching them into centos?

To check the db go into your account db, into "tables" and you should be able to see about 80 items in there if it is right.

Only my v2 files had that "ep2" folder and lost of people made the mistake of thinking that was the install (winscp defaults to the root folder) so i have compressed them in 2.5 to prevent that happening.

You should not need to reinstall centos (which doesn't contain the cabal server files by the way). What you need to do is open a terminal on centos, log in as root ("su - root" followed by the root password) and then do the following:

chmod 0777 /root/cabal_install.sh

/root/cabal_install.sh

If you are on the right version it should say 2.5 at the top of what this displays. Say no to the question about upgrading.

Once that is complete run /home/cabal/cabal_config.sh and that shoudl start the config script.

After that is finished delete the rpm and .gz files from /root/ as they aren't needed anymore.

That is the right one. I forgot the installer is slightly earlier version-wise as it only had 2 small updates over v2 but it is definitely correct.

Only 20 user tables in account isn't right. I would try restoring the databases again.

I see...hmm....think the databases are messed up now ...so I will just reinstall everything again. I don't remember what I did with them in the past few days haha.

Side question: mrmagoo (chumpy) reminds me of the wow server compilation...I host the server be4 and it's a good one...is that yours? If so, thanks all the same lolz.
