[Help] How to Update the Updater

aight

dose any1 know how to update the updater, through the updater

when inix make changes to their updater, they send out a updater named KalOnline0.exe
next time you launch after getting this, your version of updater will change
(i think )
it dose not seem to change during the update , as
it gets recieved as a gunzip file like other files
the updater has to unzip them and cannon overwrite its self

dose any1 know why / how it works
dose any1 know how to update the updater using the original updater and update server

is it programed to change automaticaly if you send out a KalOnline0.exe
or is there something you need to do to make it happen

just add the updated kalonline.exe to the new0 it will be send out as kalonline0.exe and you will get the "restart launcher blabla" thingy

no
new0 folder is for local updates
new4 is for updating
and if i put in a kalonline.exe to new0 it will still send as kalonline.exe
which dont work because it cannot unzip and overwrite its own self

ronjambo.. whatever update folder u use, just put the kalonline.exe in it.. When the update is finished, and u run your client, the game will for sure, tell you to restart. If not, you got a problem with the updater you use

Just build in a version check (download file from updater like Version.txt, which is downloaded every time the updater launches, checks the content and if it doesnt match, give an error that there is a new version)

Then make an extra tool just to download the newest updater

That's how we did

not realy working on svr at moment , i just wondered how it worked thanks guys

on HOAX and PE we used original updater, and had no problem sending updated updated through updater..
