You can't fix it if you got vista 32-bits OS. Basically it depends on.. It works to some people. i've get this error message too many times.
I reinstalled my PC and it worked fine to me.. But I didn't just reinstall it cuz of PT, I also had other issues.
Anyway, you will never get this error message on vista 64-bits OS.
to be clear, if you have xtrap you can't even log with vista 64-bit :/
Oh really ? it worked to a friend of mine anyway.
Hes using 64-bits OS @ xTrap and it works fine to him he says.
It might be hard to fix it actually.
To be honest I wouldnt even think about to host a PT Server (or any kind of server) on a PC based on vista. I'd prefer windows server 03 or possibly 08. windows XP any version is ok too.
But notice that IIS 5.1 doesnt work on Windows XP Home Edition, so make sure you downloading/installing W/Professional or any other version expect Home Edition if you want a possibility to IIS 5.1 to make the clan system possible.
Cheers.
Hey guys
i have a found a way to play it with vista >=D
you have to add the game to DEP
(everyone who plays games on vista must know what it is xD cause its the most stupid thing on vista xD) always blocking games and stuff
I was going to say, I've seen that error in XP, because I usually enable DEP. It's a fantastic safeguard against unwanted DLL injection and malware.
The solution is not to make a bollocks of editing your client in the first place. Your client has had data stores relocated in the image to a location that is not given permission to be accessed the way you are using it... Win32 without DEP can't actually enforce that, and at best will flag a warning in the system event log. But if your CPU is capable of hardware DEP (Data Execution Protection) it will shut down any application that is using memory in ways that it is not authorised to do.
@Rkokie: I use XTrap on X64 Vista without any problems. So your statement is clearly inaccurate. I wonder what lead you to believe it wasn't possible, since I don't doubt your sincerity.
