Game Article "Star Ocean 4 tops 160,000 in first week in Japan"
Famitsu.com reported today citing sales information from parent company Enterbrain. This is the highest domestic first week total ever for an Xbox 360 game. The sales figure covers from the game's February 19 release date through the 22nd, the last day of Enterbrain's weekly sales tracking period. The site did not state if Star Ocean 4 took the overall top spot for the week.
In addition to having the highest first week total for the Xbox 360, Star Ocean 4 looks like it's on track to become the platform's best selling game. Currently, only two titles have sold more copies: Microsoft's own Blue Dragon at 203,740 units and Bandai Namco's Tales of Vesperia at 172,400 units.
Star Ocean 4 appears to have spurred hardware sales as well. Weekly sales for the 360, covering February 16 through the 22nd, were at 24,584 units, the fourth highest weekly total yet for the system. The 360 usually sells below the 10,000 mark.
